We are lucky enough to have just returned from a ski trip to Madonna and stayed in this wonderful little hotel.||||We booked through Crystal and there were other guests from Crystal at the hotel as well as many Italian guests so it has a nice authentic feel about it.||||The rooms were basic but very clean and were cleaned everyday. The bathroom was spotless and included shower gel, shampoo etc.||||There was a lovely bar area and all the staff in the hotel were so friendly and welcoming from the reception staff to the staff who severed breakfast and dinners. ||||The breakfast was buffet style and had loads to choose from, including pastries, meats and cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals along with scrambled egg, bacon and sausages. There were also plenty of drink choices from fruit juices, tea, coffee etc.||||The meals in the evening were included in our package and we thought we might eat there a few times and maybe try the local restaurants too but there was no need. The food was outstanding with a choice of menu each day where you could choose which option you would prefer for the following evening. There were usually four courses and you never left the table hungry. Each day were completely different meals so you didn't feel like you were eating the same thing every day.||||The ski boot room has lockers if you require them or if not there is a place to put your skis and boots and has ample room for everyone. The ski bus stop is just outside the hotel if needed but the main Spinale lift is only a short walk away about 5 minutes and yes it is slightly uphill but honestly if you are fit and healthy and are skiing all day then this walk shouldn't be an issues but there is the bus option if needed. From the Spinale lift if you are an intermediate skier who can do red runs then you can pretty much get to the whole of the extended ski area. ||||The hotel is located in a nice quiet area, and is only a short walk from the centre where all the bars, shops and restaurants etc can be found.||||I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will be looking to go back at some point...
Read moreJust returned from a wonderful week in the Italo. The hotel is lovely and cosy with great ski facilities. The rooms are very warm and comfortable with a powerful shower, good storage and plenty of hooks to hang up ski jackets and salopettes. We were enticed by the excellent reviews of the cuisine online and were not disappointed. Breakfasts included cooked eggs and bacon, cold meats and cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, bread and pastries and excellent coffee. Dinners were a salad antipasti, a choice of primi and secondi piattis and desserts and were, without exception, delicious and plentiful. Drinks are extra, but are very reasonable (13💶 for a litre carafe of local house red). The famiglia Papa were extremely welcoming and the lovely Kristina/Christina (?) was an absolute marvel at both breakfast and dinner service. The hotel sells daily ski bus tickets (2💶) but not the weekly tickets. Both the ski bus stop and a good Ski Hire shop (Olympionico Palu) are just across the road and you can walk to the Spinale lift in 5 minutes so the location is great (it's also just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Campiglio). Overall, I'd recommend the Hotel Italo and would like to thank them for such a...
Read moreBooked this Hotel based on the excellent recommendations. However, disappointed on arrival. Room very dark||and cramped. (Room 25) View of building alongside. Bed uncomfortable as it was very well worn. Bathroom was very small and could only accommodate one person at a time. Breakfast was very average. Evening meals were reasonable. On the plus side, the reception staff were helpful and our waitress Christina was a delightful||ray of sunshine. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. The ski bus outside only ran every 1/2 hour and you had to pay a daily charge of 2Euros||for this service. The Campiglio ski area pass was 255 Euros for 6 days (low season) so we thought the bus||could have been included in this fee. Unfortunately we had to leave the resort as it was closing down due to the||coronavirus. We left at 7am and regrettably there was no staff to see us off. There was no||provision for tea/coffee or any breakfast and we had a 3 hour transfer ahead of us. Not an...
