This is the 4th or 5th time we've visited Cortona and every time have stayed at the Bietolini property [Villa Augusto or Villa Rolando]. It is simply spectacularly beautiful - the grounds and the pool are magnificent. It's a 5 minute drive up into the wonderfully fascinating 11th century town of Cortona with its interesting shops and fabulous restaurants. ||||The properties, whilst not air conditioned are very very old and stay cool even when the temperature is in the 30's.||||Augusto is generally not far away and always contactable by phone. He's so helpful and his English is just about perfect. He couldn't be more accommodating.||||It's less than an hour to Orvieto by car and a brilliant train station at Camucia goes to Florence every hour or so and beyond. The trains in Italy are very very reliable.||||You'll find it hard to better this place for a relaxing...

I totally recommend this place as the owner - Augusto and his wife were very friendly and made my trip much better than expected.
They gave us a lot of hints and helpful advices about what can you visit around. At the end of the stay it was difficult to say goodbye to Augusto and Lia , as they soon became close friends of us.
The accomodation is astonishing, I felt I was living in a palace/museum as everywhere there are paintings on the walls (most of them very expensive) and the furniture fits perfect to the age of the building.
The playing are was great too - we played tennis, enjoyed the pool and during the night we have seen fireflies.
As well, during the morning we were woke up by the sound of birds, breathing nature.

Augusto and Lia made me feel like their villa was my home and for this I would like to thank them very much. They have done everything for me having a great holiday.||||Their property is outstanding valuable. I felt like in a museum, as everywhere there are decorations and high quality furniture. Moreover, they host a museum dedicated to St. Marguerita which tells a beutiful story,||||The rooms are very confortable, breezy and very well equiped.
