Villa Serena & Dépendance — Local services in Cortona

We were two couples who were just looking for a place to stay while we biked around Tuscany for a week in the middle of October 2016 and found this lovely villa just outside Cortona. It has three large bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs. Downstairs is a large kitchen, a medium sized dining room and two more areas to sit and relax. Everything was clean and well kept. The grounds were lovely. Terraced down from the villa to an orchard and below that a pool (closed because we were there after September 30 which the owners made clear). There was a terrace just outside the first floor where we had our morning coffee and cocktails in the evening. The view from the bedrooms and the terrace was wonderful, Cortona high to the right and the valley below and to the left. We wish there was a clothes dryer and better directions to the clothes washer. Other than that, everything was better...

Nos alojamos una semana en Villa Serena, una espaciosa casa de tres dormitorios en planta alta y gran living y cocina abajo, bien mantenida y amueblada, a un kilómetro en subida a la bella Cortona (se puede hacer a pie, pero la subida es costosa y la bajada solo si hay luz). El jardín muy amplio y bien cuidado, con hermosas vistas hacia el Val de Chiana, es espectacular y muy disfrutable. Una mesa con sombrillas nos permitió espléndidos desayunos y cenas. Tiene una hermosa piscina y equipamiento de sillas y reposeras. La casa tiene bonitos muebles antiguos, cuadros, adornos, camas románticas, ventiladores de pie, buenos baños, cocina con lavaplatos y lavarropas. En julio se extraña la falta de aire acondicionado, pero en general, todo funciona bien. El wifi tiene alcance limitado a la casa y no llega al jardín. Una crítica es que deberían proveer más toallas, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que también se va a utilizar la piscina. ¡¡Solo proveen una grande y una pequeña de lino por persona para una semana!!...y tienen el detalle poco elegante para una villa de ese tipo, de cobrar un pequeño cargo por las toallas adicionales (tan obviamente necesarias). Lo mismo puede decirse de la falta de imprescindibles adaptadores en los antiguos enchufes (plags) de casi todas las instalaciones. Y la mesa del comedor es pequeña, no caben cómodas más de 5 personas, algo que puede incomodar para...
