We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Anna, Bruno and Sylvia went out of their way to help us organise activities and make our stay in Como memorable. They also have an excellent selection of walks / activities and other tourist info that came in very useful.||The coffee at breakfast was the best by far, and Bruno's home made cakes were a treat !||The room we had was the terrace one, large and roomy, with a fantastic large terrace area and balcony with magnificent views over to the lake and surrounding mountains. It had a private bathroom outside the room down a few steps.||It was very peaceful and comfortable.||The location is superb if you have a car, as it is an escape from the tourist traps of Bellagio etc. Without a car, you can easily get to the lake by foot on a cobbled path - it is a bit of an uphill gradient to the guest house but perfectly manageable.||Buses run regularly along the main lake shore road (and go north and south ) at the bottom, - so good for day trips in either direction - but stop about 730pm - so if your staying out late a car comes in handy ........taxis are very expensive........||Hiking is fantastic from the B&B, in the mountains just behind.||Overall, would definately stay here again and recommend to family...
Read moreUp a narrow road with 9 sharp turns that fits no more than one car at most places, there is the beautiful B&B Il Motto ("the summit" in Italian). The B&B is located in Cremia, at the northern part of Lago Di Como (Lake Como) - an excellent base for traveling in the lake area - about 5 minute drive to Menaggio (ferries to Bellagio and a great town by itself), about 45 minutes drive to Lake Lugano and double that to Lake Maggiore. ||||Hosts Bruno and Anna (with their daughter Sylvia) are going out of their way to help and make you feel at home. Their English level is excellent and they have plenty of advise on local trips, hidden gems and restaurant and shopping tips. ||||The rooms are basic but good. The "suite" has an ensuite toilet and shower, the other 2 rooms have a private toilet and shower but in the middle floor - outside the room. For 60 Euros per night you cannot ask for more in such a prime location.||||Breakfast is an upgraded continental one with fresh bread, cheese and marmalades, excellent freshly brewed coffee (made in a Makiato), some cereals and a surprise fruit each morning.||||For those who are looking for a quiet and basic place for a private vacation, I am out of words in recommending...
Read moreWe had a very good break here. Our hosts Bruno and Anna were very friendly and welcoming, providing tea and home made 'Zucchini' cake on our arrival. They gave us lots of advice on what to see and do in our short time in the area. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed tasting some local cheeses and drinking the delicious coffee. Our room had a lovely view of the lake. It is simply furnished and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is not en suite but is private and very close to...
