Poggio dei Farinetti — Hotel in Diano d'Alba

We were there last year in Oct and we had a great time there !||The boss, Monica and her husband were very friendly and nice to us. She gave us a lot of information on sightseeing and restaurants and she even booked us the tables. Her husband recommended us the bio wines and arranged us the wine tasting at the vineyard. Both the wine and the price were so good that we bought a lot back home. |The B&B itself was very clean and cosy. The one we stayed at the top floor was with a nice view over the vineyards and with a small balcony. We were happy that they have heater as it was pretty cold at night. The breakfast was good - good coffee, home made cakes , cold cut, fresh bread, fruits, cereal, cheese ..... We ate quite a lot ! ||The location is also very good. We spent 4 days at il poggio dei farinetti and can confirm that we were extremely comfortable. The room (on the second floor) was spacious and comfortable, the batrooms clean and the room had a stunning view over the vineyards. The breakfast has all that one could want from savoury to sweet including cereals, coffees, orange juice etc. Diano d'Alba is a good base for exploring the Langhe region and all major towns such as Alba, La Morra, Barolo and others are easily reachable provided one has a car. As i turns out we were there during a heatwave, and the pool provided a welcome daily respite from the heat after a day of touring wineries and other attractions. We stayed for 5 nights and had an excellent time.||||First, the location is the best! From the B&B/pool, there is a perfect view over the hill around Barolo. You can see the Grinzane Cavour castle (Unesco) very clear!||||The owners are very kind and helpful. A nice breakfast is served, there is a variety of meat and cheeses. Always fresh. We liked the (home baked? forgot to ask) cakes made of nuts and fruits!||||The rooms have plenty of space and are comfortable.||||Tip, for dinner, there's a very nice (family style) restaurant near the B&B (La Bricolla) if you don't want to drive...
