Rating: 1/10 - Do Not Recommend||Total Financial Impact: €11,336||Stay Period: July 2025 | King Oasi Suite | €906/night||After a catastrophic stay at Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia, I feel compelled to share this detailed account to help other travelers avoid similar experiences. What was marketed as a luxury resort fell drastically short of basic hospitality standards, resulting in significant financial losses and health concerns.||Misleading “2019 Refurbishment” Claims||The property markets itself as recently refurbished, but this appears limited to cosmetic updates only. Our €906/night suite featured aging infrastructure including 25+ year-old AERMEC FCX22U air conditioning units that failed completely during our stay. We awoke at 4:30 AM to extreme heat due to total AC breakdown.||The room bore little resemblance to marketing photos - featuring tiny windows, no balcony, and substandard conditions inconsistent with luxury positioning. Management appears aware of these recurring infrastructure failures yet continues charging premium rates without addressing underlying problems.||Serious Health and Safety Concerns||The spa facilities presented unacceptable sanitary conditions, with shower areas contaminated with human waste. Staff confirmed that management has repeatedly refused requests for adequate cleaning resources despite ongoing guest complaints. These conditions pose genuine health risks and likely violate Italian health regulations.||Additionally charging €30 spa fees on top of €906/night rates for facilities in this condition is particularly concerning.||Management Response and Service Failures||General Manager Marco Gervasoni initially acknowledged our concerns on July 28th at 8:15 AM, promising resolution and stating we wouldn’t be held to our booking if we chose to leave. However, at checkout, he completely reversed this position, offering only a single night’s refund while charging our credit card for three cancelled nights.||Additional service failures included:|| • Children’s facilities largely non-functional with poor maintenance|| • Restaurant staff refusing service after extended waits|| • Overall infrastructure failing to meet basic Conrad/Hilton brand standards||Pattern of Systematic Issues||Research across review platforms reveals recurring complaints about identical problems:|| • Multiple reports of the same AERMEC AC system failures|| • Consistent spa cleanliness violations|| • Similar management responses using generic, non-committal language|| • 299+ Google reviews documenting ongoing operational issues||The property operates at approximately 40% capacity yet appears unwilling to invest in necessary service improvements.||Financial Impact||The failed stay resulted in substantial unplanned expenses:|| • Conrad Chia Laguna charges: €4,530|| • Emergency alternative accommodation: €6,606|| • Additional transportation and logistics: €400+|| • One full day lost to travel disruption||Total impact: Over €11,000 for what should have been a 5-night luxury vacation||Impact on Sardinia’s Tourism Reputation||This property’s operational failures do a disservice to Sardinia’s otherwise exceptional tourism offerings. The stunning location deserves hospitality that matches its natural beauty, not management that appears indifferent to guest experiences and basic service standards.||Recommendation||Based on this experience and consistent patterns in other guest reviews, I cannot recommend Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia. The significant gap between marketing promises and operational reality, combined with management’s apparent unwillingness to address documented issues, makes this unsuitable for travelers expecting legitimate luxury standards.||For those seeking quality accommodations in this beautiful region of Sardinia, I’d suggest researching alternative properties with more consistent operational track records.||Verified Stay: July 2025 | King Oasi Suite | 2...
Read moreWe chose Chia Laguna for our honeymoon hotel during our time in Sardinia. We had a very bad experience with that place and DON'T recommend if you are looking for a romantic place to stay....||||POOR INFORMATION||Firstly, the reception staff told us we can park our rented car in front of the hotel, as their car park was full and there was no other place to park, so we did and the day after, on our way back from the beach, we noticed tht our car had a dent in the back bumper. The hotel didn't have any CCTV cameras and haven't even apologized for the damage, which we assumed was cause by one of their 'beach train's. (On the drive way to the hotel, only the beach trains were allowed to stop, hence we assume it was one of theirs). ||||STAFF||Secondly, the cleaning services had either stolen or took by accident (we are not sure) my partners shorts. He left them on the bed in a clear view and when we came back from dinner the bed sheets were changed but no sign of his shorts. We've contacted the reception on the same day, they laughed in my face and pretended they cannot understand English. Since we don't speak Italian, I have no clue what the receptionist was actually saying to us. They didn't do anything about it despite us going to the reception 3 times in 3 different days. (At the end on the check out they said they can't even give us a discount onto he price for the stolen shorts...) We find it ridiculous because it was clearly their fault. We have never got them back.||||SPA and Swimming Pool||The hotel on the website is presented as a SPA hotel, but there is no information that you can use the spa only for 2 hours during your whole stay. We were shocked to find out that info on the arrival. We booked the place for 2 weeks and couldn't use the saunas for more than 2 hours.... Shocking! ||The swimming pool was open only from 10 till 7 pm, which was also not mentioned while we booked the place. I have to say that the only GOOD thing about the spa was the quality of the massage. We booked two full body messages, very expensive but worth the price, so tht was indefinitely the best part of the whole place.||||FOOD||The hotel offers a half-board option for booking, which includes breakfast and dinner in the price. The food was good, lots of variety for dinner options, however they don't tell you that they charge you for a bottle of water. The waitress just comes and asks: "still or sparkling?" And for the first 3 days we were just taking the bottle of still water until we found out that they charge you for that. Some information about tht would be good to know.... Again, very poor info about extra costs. For the next few days we took to dinner our own water bottles bought in the shop near buy. ||||BEACH||If you go to the beach, the pizza there is amazing ! We ended up going there for lunch almost every day. Apart from that - very nice views from the beach.||||In general, we were very disappointed with the reception staff being rude and pretending not to speak English once the problem either with out car or stolen shorts arrised. Very poor information about the extra costs and spa disappointment on the website and extremely annoying hidden costs of restaurant water... ||||We do not recommend the hotel, absolutely gutted we even booked it, next time Airbnb seems a better option for the...
Read moreThis was literally the best experience ! From the moment I reserved my room, the concierge contacted me via email to obtain more information regarding my purpose of the stay so that they could create an even better experience, which they did not fail!! I was provided with the best transportation from and to the airport, my little toddler ended up coming along and they even provided him with a car seat! My room even came with wine and a nice dessert for my now 16 year old ! I did a solo trip with my two sons (16 and 2) to Italy ! I cannot wait to return !||I have to say first the staff the staff the staff is what makes this place a five star hotel, front office was so accommodating and helpful keeping my toddler entertained, I left my medication in the room they rushed it to the airport for me like when I say five star service The Conrad is so lucky for the staff they have ||Check in: I am an American Express platinum card holder and booked part of my reservation on the site which came with its own set of benefits and I am also a Hilton Diamond Member which Antonio definitely acknowledged, with the help of him and his amazing front desk manager ( woman) I don’t want to butcher her name, I was upgraded to the most beautiful room! I was also given a welcome drink that was so yummy !|Bags were brought up immediately and it was just a super simple process ! ||Room/ Property- love love love ! My room was spacious and beautiful and more than enough for me and my two boys. The bathroom !! Oh the bathroom is gorgeous with a tub and separate shower just perfect because the toddler loves baths. We were overlooking the pool and over that you can see one of the towers. We also had our own private sun bathing areas right outside our room it was perfect. The bed felt amazing to sleep in even the couch was comfy.||Beach: now this is what u came to Sardinia for !! The most beautiful beach. We only went to the main side and u present ur room number and are set up with some chairs and towels and u can literally see the relaxation hit you the moment I stepped onto the sand, the hotel does offer a shuttle service to the beach club as the property is not necessarily on the beach. It runs every 8 minutes or so. The beach is private also on the other side is the public side with its own beach clubs and such it’s just also nice to experience locals in their natural habitat I absolutely loved it, my toddler enjoyed his self so much .||Food: we ordered room service the first night since the boys couldn’t get the time difference from LA down yet, and it was so good I got sea bass, burger and a bianchi pasta for the toddler it was really good. ||The concierge also arranged for us to have reservations at the pizzeria for my son’s birthday and it was also so yummy! Nothing like pizza from Italy , the waiter was so kind and brought out a tiramisu for my son and sung happy birthday ! ||Breakfast was buffet style but was so good also the omelette station made the best omelettes and my son had his...
