We spent only one night here, but we were thoroughly impressed with the quality and hospitality at Raschoetzhof. Our room was quiet and comfortable—we had a balcony with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and area, which is lovely. The breakfast here was probably the best we had during our entire stay in Italy, with things like individual kiwi smoothies and other nice touches that you won't find at most B&Bs. The host we communicated with was a young guy (can't remember his name now.....sorry!) who was very nice, helpful, and hardworking—he seemed to be doing 3 different jobs at various points throughout the day. ||||Finally, the restaurant! The hosts also own the restaurant (I believe the name is Pizzeria Restaurant Viel Nois) down the street, and you would be making a big mistake if you did not here. First, as guests of the hotel we were offered a 10% discount to eat here. Also, I had read some good things about the restaurant online, but thought it was basically just a pizzeria. Actually, it's a quite chic restaurant that offers a variety of dishes and everything (at least everything we tried) was amazing. During our trip, this was definitely one of the 2-3 highlight meals we had.||||Also, some people have been thrown off by the fact that the hosts aren't always at the hotel when you arrive. I can understand why this would be problematic for someone traveling from outside the country (i.e. no phone, service, long travels, etc.), but it's really not a big deal. We had an Italian SIM card with data but no calling, so we weren't able to call ourselves. But the next door neighbor was outside, understood the situation, and offered kindly to call them for us. Of course if the neighbor isn't available, the easiest option would be to just walk the 3-5 minutes down the road to the restaurant and tell them you're guests...
Read moreIt is a great family-run hotel with simple yet authentic furniture and atmosphere. Our room had splendid views of the magnificent peaks of the Puez Geisler/Odle National Park in Funes. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful. We received a complementary Dolomiti 7 day card from them which was such a nice gesture. The breakfast was outstanding with wide variety of locally sourced and delicious sweet and savory delicacies, including cheeses, speck, home-made breads and jams, pastries, tiramisu, and many more. The location is very handy for hiking in the Puez Geisler park, and with many more hiking options within 1h drive. The village itself is nice and quiet and one does feel energized and relaxed at the same time. We were very happy with our stay and would...
Read moreHighly recommend this hotel. You must call a phone number for check in as they are running the restaurant Viel Nois around the corner so if you have no phone service you can go to the restaurant instead of calling them. Guests get a 10% discount there.
Rooms are very comfortable and the mountain views are exquisite. Wish we had two nights here so we can enjoy the mountain views more. Breakfast is phenomenal with huge variety of delicious fruit - assortment of berries, fig, dragon fruit, pineapple, canteloupe, toppings for yogurt, charcuterie, pastries, etc. Wish we stayed longer than a night, Val di Funes is a dream.
WiFi for us, was spotty in our room. Attached is...
