Absolutely beautiful place with fantastic garden and stunning view over wine fields. Lovely and spacious rooms. |BUT the Realis is way to quiet. It’s only six rooms so there are just a few guests and no staff around (other than at breakfast) which makes the place feel empty and a bit deserted. We missed being able to have a glass of wine in a common area and talk to other guests. |We were also disappointed with the super small village in which the Relais is situated. It was like a ghost town where no people were to bee seen (Honestly NO people out). HOTEL:||Das Relais di Tenuta Santa Caterina in Grazzano Badoglio war für uns die erste Station eines zweiwöchigen Italienurlaubs. Wir haben es aufgrund der zentralen Lage im Bereich Monferrato, sowie der sehr guten Kritiken im Internet gebucht. Das Relais hat insgesamt sechs Suiten.|| ||LAGE:||Das Relais liegt am Ortsrand von Grazzano Badoglio. Man genießt hier Ruhe und eine wunderbare Aussicht auf die umliegenden Felder, Hügel und Dörfer. Die Zufahrt ist durchgehend asphaltiert und es sind eigene Autoabstellplätze vorhanden. Die Lage ist optimal für Ausflüge im Monferrato und perfekt für Liebhaber italienischen Rotweins. Auch die Weine aus der eigenen Produktion sind sehr empfehlenswert. Besonders gut geschmeckt haben uns der „Solidoro“ und der „Setecàpita“. Eine Führung durch das Weingut kann ebenfalls gemacht werden.|| ||SERVICE:||Man genießt liebenswürdige und unaufdringliche italienische Gastfreundschaft. Alle Mitarbeiterinnen waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Besonders die beiden Damen beim Frühstück - Paola und Laura - sind zwei Goldstücke. Gesprochen wurde italienisch und teilweise englisch. || ||GASTRONOMIE:||Das Relais kann nur auf B&B-Basis gebucht werden. Jedoch gibt es sowohl in Grazzano Badoglio selbst (z.B. Il Bagatto) und in Moncalvo sehr gute Lokale. Einfach im Relais nach Empfehlungen fragen. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, vor allem die „selbstgemachten“ Kuchen und Kekse (ganz besonders die Baci Di Dama).|| ||SPORT / UNTERHALTUNG:||Es gibt einen sehr schönen Outdoor-Pool. Bei entsprechender Frequenz könnte es mit den Sonnenliegen und Sonnenschirme etwas knapp werden. War aber während unseres Aufenthaltes nie ein Problem. Anmerkung: Im Sommer muss man überall mit Stechmücken rechnen. Entsprechenden Insektenschutz einplanen.||||ZIMMER:||Wir konnten alle Zimmer besichtigen und man kann eigentlich keine Empfehlung für ein bestimmtes abgeben. Jedes hat seinen eigenen Charme. Schöne, stilvolle Einrichtung. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt.. Safe, Klimaanlage, Kühlschrank/Minibar und Telefon sind vorhanden. Es gibt auch gratis WLAN/Wi-Fi. || ||Wir können das Haus auf jeden Fall empfehlen und kommen wieder, eine Woche war...

This is a beautiful, special, well maintained villa in Piedmont. The grounds were beautiful. Our room was small but comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent. Very quiet, set in a tiny village, which is what we wanted. We were a bit disappointed that it was a solid hour (sometimes more) out of Alba. There is a local delightful restaurant in the village that was filled with hospitality, but not a lot of other restaurants nearby. We ended up spending more time in the car than we anticipated—and it was not a particularly pleasant drive to Alba, especially in the rain.
