The hotel is located in Staffel a huge parking lot at the end of the Gressoney valley for the skiers that can take the two main lifts for accessing the fantastic Monterosa ski area that goes from Alagna in Val Sesia to Champoluc in Val d Ayas. |The hotel is the only old building in the area and was 19 century hunting lodge of the noble family of the valley. This lodge was one of the favourite place of Margherita the queen of Italy who liked to spend summer time wandering in the Monterosa mountains. The building has been restored maintaining the original atmosphere. The boiseries the furniture the painting and photos on the walls everything makes you feeling you are in a 19 century house and expect to meet the queen and his friend the baron planning mountain excursions. |The rooms are confortable clean and warm and have balcony where you can admire the monterosa range. The personnel at the reception is very professional and nice and the breakfast who is served in an evocative all wooden living room is ok. It is a self service breakfast not particularly varied but i could get a cappuccino with a brioche i liked very much. The hotel has a private inner heated parking and ski lockers . The lifts are at less than 100 meters from the hotel.|The negatives i found in this hotel are all in the maintenance field probably difficult in such a remote location. The wardrobe in the room which does not stay closed the ski locker that does not open the automatic garage door that has to be opened manualy. The price of the rooms is in the range of 150 euro per night and is in line with the area offering. The hotel has not a restaurant but you can find some reasonable place nearby or you can go to Gressoney la trinite where very good restaurants are present.|In summary an original hotel very practical for skiers where you can spend your time in a 19...
Read moreA group of 6 of us stayed at the Villa della regina for a skiing break. We had an extremely spacious and well equipped apartment. This historic building has considerable charm and a great location right next to the lifts. Very warm and cosy, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. There is a welcoming and informal atmosphere making it great for family groups. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on the catering but found the self-catering facilities more than adequate. Our week's accomodation (in UK half term) offered great value for money. Would...

Parking indoors for the car was included.||What was not so good about the hotel is the following. Breakfast was not included in the price, it cost extra and was fair. In the room there was a hard and uncomfortable bed that was 140 centimes wide, a little too small for two people. There was also a sofa bed that could be used, but it was if possible even more uncomfortable...
