This hotel was chosen after another hotel "Harrys Hotel" let us down and failed to acknowledge our booking, whereas La Brezza was swift to reply to bookings although their on line booking system failed, faxes were exchanged with credit card details to secure our room direct with the hotel. Something I won't be doing in the future preferring to opt for a secure and robust system such as one like Booking.com. Staff didn't appreciate our concerns in handing over 5000 euros and not getting a receipt, very strange. Female owner manager came across a bit abrupt and unhelpful but she improved during our stay. Rooms were ok but noisy with dogs barking which were allowed in the room, something we were unaware of which lead to complaints where the owner moved the dogs two doors down the hall, so we now had the same noise but a bit muffled for what is a family hotel. There was a months worth of dust, fluff and rubbish under the bed and the beds were thin and uncomfortable, the views from the room were great though. The need to battle for a fridge was not welcomed and is considered a standard accessory these days but did get one eventually but you have to keep on to the staff. Hospitality was generally good apart from our arrival issues. the taxis sent from the hotel didn't know where the hotel was driving around endlessly which added to the stress of the journey. Breakfast was a bit repetitive but ok, the staff running the restaurant should run the front house as their skills and friendliness would go far, we looked forward to meeting them each morning and they always smiled and said good morning and would go out their way to assist you. The pool is adequate but the location of sunbeds stretch out to La Brezza beach (which is not on the beach, take note of that). The main beach accommodates all hotels fronting the beach but NOT La Brezza, so no sunbeds are allocated and must be paid for separately and they do not like you putting your towel down on the sand either. The immediate area surrounding the hotel is a bit boring and lifeless but great for kids. The food available in café and restaurants are the same, pizza, pizza and pizza, however we are in Italy I hear you say and this is backed up by most restaurants offering shop brought style FROZEN pasta as admitted by the staff of the restaurants, often dry and still frozen in the middle followed by 10 mins in the microwave and an apology. Local transport is ok, quad bikes available to hire but difficult to manoeuvre as the main street is full of them along side people walking, over crowded at time and dangerous. Kind of a quiet location but needs have more to do for adults visiting the area, further around Jesslo is more interesting but really more of the same. The Beach bar is great for snacks and sunset drinks located at the La Brezza by the beach footpath. Keep an eye on your change though ! Overall an enjoyable holiday as a party of four with a 2 year old it met most of our needs but won't be returning to this hotel or location in Italy, seemed a bit fake and didn't offer the true Italian...
Read moreWe spent 1 week in this hotel as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). It was one of the hotels that accepted arrival on Sunday (couple of other hotels allowed only Saturday or Wednesday) so this was first plus for the hotel. It also has quite big own parking area so we had no problem with parking. The room was simple but clean and we had 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed (2 regular places). So all of us had regular bed for sleeping (no sofa). Room had shower (quite small but we managed well), toilet and bidet (I am not sure of EN word for it), vut it was very appreciated for hygiene as we are used to it. We had small terrace facing the street which was great choice as the seaside is on south so we had no direct sun shining into the room (it was hot enough anyway). The rokm also had airconditioning working very well and also fan.
We had halfboard. Breakfast was ok- you vould choose from various sweet cakes/croissants, bread, cheese, ham, milk, yoghurts of various tastes, cereals and fresh fruit. There were no scrambled eggs or saussages but you could ask for cooked egg.
Dinners were served based on what you chose during the previous evening from the list. There was always spaghetti or other pasta with either bolognese, pure tomato sauce or butter and then various other dishes such as veal, tuna, seafood, but also soup, and children menu-it varies day to day. (They translate seafood as fish so be aware :-) for real fish they use its name such as tuna). Apart from 2 dishes you choose for each person from this menu there is always salad bar where you can find grilled vegetables and after dinner they serve desert-usually you get to choose from icecream, puding, and some kind of cake. We never ended up hungry and our kids always found something they like to eat.
Hotel has a pool with one slide which is good enough considering you come for the sea not for the pool and there is own beach with free umbrellas and chairs/beds. Its not exactly at the sea but its almost at the sea. You can leave your things and towels there when you go swimming. There is also swing and slide at the hotel beach for kids.
They also serve very good coffee at the hotel bar. Bakery is just across the street as well as supermarket.
Personnel is very nice and willing to help. We are leaving early in the morning before breakfast time so they prepared us even breakfast package to take into the car.
I recommend this hotel for families with kids. I am not sure it is so suitable for romantic pairs but it certainly is for families.
Thank you very much for...
Read moreThree of us stayed here for 5 nights in mid July. The hotel called me the day before arrival to see what time we would arrive - a nice touch. We arrived a little early and were able to check in. We were allocated a room on the 2nd floor. There is a lift but it is quite small, fine to get the luggage to your room. Our room for 3 of us was a snug fit but it had everything we needed. It was very clean and well maintained and we had a balcony which overlooked the street but from the side we could see the beach and sea. The shower room was also snug but perfectly adequate for our needs. The towels were good quality as was the bedding and there was excellent air conditioning. Breakfast was buffet style with soft boiled eggs available to order. The pool area is well maintained with plenty of sun beds and brollies and a lovely pool. There are also outdoor showers. The private beach is great too, plenty of beds and brollies and it is just a 100 metres to the sea. There is an excellent gelateria at the front of the hotel and a supermarket opposite for anything you may need. There is a host of restaurants too. This family run hotel is a good place to...
