Mesdì Hotel — Hotel in Livinallongo del Col di Lana

My friend and I spent 6 nights at Hotel Mesdi while cycling thru the Dolomite’s best climbs of the Giro. We chose this hotel due to its convenient locations for all of our rides, plus the bike hotel designation. In every category, the hotel met or exceeded all of our expectations. Arabba is by far the most central location to cycle thru all four directions. For that reason, we were glad to be starting our rides from this hotel. For cyclists, the bike storage/maintenance room is a nice to have option. The Laundry service provided daily (6pm drop off) by the Mrs. (Michela) and delivered to your breakfast table by the next AM is a fabulous amenity for cyclist. However, the highlight of my stay was the 5 course meal that was part of the “half board” meal plan I had arranged. Every evening, after somewhat exhausting day’s ride, we indulged in chef’s daily changing selections. I gained new appreciation for duck, rabbit and wild boar dishes prepared in Italian style. What a treat that was ! The hotel is not a big property. For that reason, you get more individual attention from the owners, who are delightful and kind. This o lovely little hotel with very involved and competent owners. The location is prime, just put on your skiis and go, there is an excellent ski room with heated boot storage. The dinner is really good with a buffet of cheese, salads, cold cuts and so on and then four courses to follow. Everything we had to eat during the nine nights was excellent. This is certainly not always the case in the Alps... The waiters are very firendly and great with the kids who are always offered a ragu och carbonara if the menu was not to their liking. The hotel is clean and very well maintained.

The only thing we missed was a kettle on the room so you could make a cup of tea/coffee and some vegetables for breakfast ) tomatoes/cucumber/lettuce) but I am sure that if we would have asked for it it would have been arranged with a smile!

Ich habe mich in diesem Hotel von der ersten Minute an unglaublich wohlgefühlt. Die Atmosphäre ist familiär, herzlich und von einer Wärme geprägt, die man nur selten erlebt. Das gesamte Team ist unfassbar lieb, zuvorkommend und sympathisch, sodass man sich sofort willkommen fühlt. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich, wie aufmerksam und professionell hier mit meiner Zöliakie umgegangen wurde. Das Essen war nicht nur geschmacklich ein Highlight, sondern auch in der Umsetzung perfekt. Selbst wenn auf dem Menü einmal ein glutenhaltiges Gericht stand, wurde mir ohne jedes Problem eine ebenso köstliche glutenfreie Alternative zubereitet. Jeden Tag gab es zudem eine Auswahl an glutenfreiem Brot, was meinen Aufenthalt noch entspannter machte.

Die Zimmer sind in einem schlichten, funktionalen Stil gehalten, bieten jedoch alles, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Mein Zimmer verfügte über einen Balkon, von dem aus man die schöne Umgebung genießen konnte. Der Spa-Bereich ist neu und modern gestaltet, nicht groß, aber sehr gut ausgestattet, sodass man wunderbar zur Ruhe kommt und entspannen kann. Besonders angenehm fand ich den kräftigen Wasserstrahl in der Dusche, der nach einem aktiven Tag in den Bergen wahre Wunder wirkt. Auch die Lage des Hotels ist ideal, um die Region zu erkunden, und der süße Hotelhund hat mit seiner freundlichen Art noch einmal zusätzlich für eine ganz besondere Wohlfühlstimmung gesorgt.

Für mich war der Aufenthalt im Hotel Mesdì in jeder Hinsicht ein Genuss. Es ist ein Ort, an den ich jederzeit gerne zurückkehren würde, und ich kann es besonders Gästen mit Zöliakie von...
