We rolled into Pacentro one evening, not knowing even if there were places to stay there, and we found B&B San Marco by a small sign in the street. As soon as we called the owner, she came over, and gave us a beautiful apartment to stay in for the night. I lived in Italy when I was a child, and this apartment reminded me very much of mine at the time - spacious, high-ceilinged, with simple but beautiful tile floors. The proprietor was extremely kind and helpful. The next morning, after waking up slowly with the coffee we made in the nicely supplied kitchen, I spent maybe half an hour on our little balcony, enjoying the great view over the wide valley below and the snowcapped mountains off to the left, and watching the swallows dart and swoop and weave. (And this was on the lower of her two floors - I imagine the view from the upper floor is even better!) All in all, we loved staying here, and in Pacentro in general, and look forward to...

Having stayed and experienced other B&B throughout Europe, San Marco is without a doubt one of the best and on top of my list. It's like being at home away from home. It's a clean and very spacious like apartment, with great accommodation. I can't wait to be able to go back and visit Pacentro to see the family I met and the new friends I left behind. Read moreFlying from London Standsted to Pescara I then hired a car from Avis (gosh they are expensive!) and drove to Pacentro. Be careful when you drive- remember there are toll roads in the way.||||Spent a few nights in Pacentro and had a great time. Emanuele has a wonderful set up in this classical apartment and his mother even baked me a cake. Such a beautiful place to visit- be sure to bring walking shoes!||||I recommend...
