The view from the resort is stunning. That’s it. No other reasons to be chosen as a wedding venue. We stayed here for 2 days for a wedding. The first day there was a wedding in the morning and a birthday party in the evening so that we had to wait to get in our rooms and when we started to get bored by the waiting, a couple of hours, they finally decided to guide us through the wedding party!!! Oh yes because the resort is so bad organised that half of the room are accessible only via the buffet area.... if a party is on the swimming pool was out of bounds. The swimming pool in it self is slightly bigger than a jacuzzi. And there is no access to the sea, and no shuttle service to the sea. The wedding buffet was chaotic and during the sitting down reception the music was so loud we couldn’t speak around the table. When the groom went to ask to stop the music they refused to interrupt “their” show. But the most pretentious point was the useless chefs parade with a half veal on display. Rooms are small and bathroom are as big as...
Read moreCapoSperone Resort is more a wedding venue than a resort. That being said it is built into a mountain side overlooking the ocean which is beautiful. The bad is the road you take to get to the hotel is single lane steep riddled with blind hairpin turns...nerve racking. Be warned if you are not use to driving a stick shift this entry is challenging. The parking during event is also challenging. No valet or help with bags from car to check in. They will help get bags to rooms.||The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. ||Be careful most rooms are a steep stairway climb up the mountain. If you can’t handle lots of stairs they do have one floor of rooms with a ramp. These rooms have a limited view. ||Rooms are stark and simple but for Calabria it’s par for the course. A/C is available and on a hot day it takes the edge off the heat and humidity. ||Breakfast on the terrace of the hotel is a beautiful scene. The breakfast itself is not anything special. ||If your adventurous...
Read moreWe chose CapoSperone on TripAdvisor for an overnight stop on our drive from the Amalfi Coast to Taormina Sicily. It is a few kilometres off the main highway and certainly qualifies as a ‘hidden gem’. It is located on the cliffs above the Mediterranean Sea shore in a truly beautiful setting. The hotel is built in tiers - probably 5 tiers - from the front entrance down to the pool. It specializes in weddings and has magnificent facilities for such events. The night we were there it hosted a wedding on one floor with an open patio facing the ocean and a large birthday celebration on another. Yet we heard very little noise from these parties. The restaurant served us a very excellent dinner and the breakfast was also very good. Our room had an outdoor patio facing the pool and ocean. It was simple in some ways but comfortable. We will stay there again if we return to...
