Had a nice time, went with friend and our 18 year old daughters. Positives: well organised, mobile home was basic 3 bed one, but fine for what we wanted (a base to do Garda (lake is 5 mins away) and also Verona within walking distance from station), pool was nice, plenty of sunbeds, yes, it got busy and it was noisy but expected that. Restaurant was fine (nice Argentinian waiter) and food was good for the price point, there were a few other restaurants within 10 mins walk. Shower and toilet blocks etc. all clean. The animation team were cheerful and worked hard, admittedly more suited to younger families, but did a good job of trying to get kids (and adults lol) to join in, we enjoyed the Aquafit (sorry did not get the name of the lad who did it but he was very entertaining) - the place was well organised generally, and felt secure. Check in was easy, and thank you to the lady who came to our mobile home to refund my deposit after I checked out and walked off without it. We found it quiet at night, but our neighbours were fairly quiet too (young families - although noisy at 6am). Yes, the cheapest mobile homes (still called deluxe) are basic, they are very close together, and they are small and hardy - but it was clean and it did the job for 2 nights, the decking with table and chairs was useful, once you get the aircon sorted, it it fine. Remember that you have to pay for bedding and towels extra (we took own) but there a blanket thing (I would call it a counterpane) per bed and extra blankets. They have wifi for 3e a night (did not use). A couple of things I would add - don't expect a massive mobile home in a similar style to Haven Gold in the UK with soft furnishings, dishwasher etc. There are a couple of proper supermarkets nearby (penny and another but they are 20 minute walk, but there is a shop on site, closes @ 7), Take deet and whatever you do, do not leave windows open with lights on, it isn't the site's fault but you will find hundreds of the biting buggers in your mobile if you do. No kettles, but we just boiled water for tea. You have to pay 100eu deposit on arrival (fine by us, and easily refunded but be aware you will need this) Our wardrobes really smelled bad inside so we ended up living out of our cases, I can't even describe what the smell was (it wasn't mould or wee or anything like that), and they were clean enough, so no idea. I don't think it is a site geared up for groups of "late-nighters" young people, unless you are doing some wholesome cheap travelling and need a base, in which case you would be fine. ...
Read moreOur family of two adults and two children (10 and 8 year old) stayed here for 7 nights in July.||We booked directly with Camping Butterfly for a two bedroom bungalow. We were delighted when we ended up in their deluxe s bungalow right next to the pool, play area and restaurant. ||The staff at reception were excellent and friendly. We didn't have a car but managed the walk from the train station in about 15 minutes with our luggage. ||The bungalow had two bedrooms with their own en-suite bathrooms. There is a lounge and kitchen. The patio was large with a big table, area for drying your clothes and a small astro garden area with two sun loungers. ||The bungalow is well equipped with aircon in each bedroom. The kitchen has all you need - kettle, toaster, microwave, electric hob, coffee machine and even a dishwasher. The hairdryer is borrowed from reception and a safe if needed. Remember you have to pay 100 Euro in cash on arrival which you get back at the end of the stay. ||The bungalow was clean and bedding was adequate with extra pillows and covers if required located in the wardrobes. The showers just okay, nothing special but it is a campsite of course so at least you have your own!||There is a great shop on the camp site which receives fresh pastries and bread every morning but you need to get there early! Prices are reasonable but we made the 15 minute walk to Penny supermarket to buy a wider range of products. We ate a few times at the campsite restaurant which was fine, nothing special. ||The pool is adequate in size with plenty of sunbeds. People were not too crazy getting sunbeds early in the morning. The slides just okay but perhaps for younger ones. Everyone has to wear swimming caps.||We didn't use their children's club or watch any evening entertainment. They have a good animation team and we saw organised yoga, aqua aerobics, water polo and football. The entertainment went on until about 22:30/23:00 then it was quiet. The campsite next door also had loud entertainment at night.||From the campsite it's 5 minutes to the pebble beach which is lovely. It took us 15 minutes to walk to the ferry pier and also to the restaurants in the old town. Same time to the train station and supermarket so a good base for everything - see my other reviews about restaurants, Gardaland, Milan and Venice.||Overall, we enjoyed our stay and it was good value for money when booking...
Read moreThe experience at the Butterfly Camping Village were very nice. The first visit of this Campsite was in summer, end of August 2020, then 2nd in 2021. It was already quite nice at the first time there. We actually met the same issue at both visits which was the mobile home assigned before check-in didn't fit to what promised when booking. Staffs however listened patiently and tried their best to reassign the mobile home which then matched exactly what we as 2+2 family need. The Mh. we got was clean and tidy, simple yet practical. Enough spaces to store all our belongings as well as for sleeping. The facilities such as pools, playground, kiosk, sportsfield...etc are maintained well and clean. We feel really relaxed during the stay. The whole area is not that huge like those big campsites next door or in Peschiera ( ex. Camping Bella Italia where we have been, too), so we easily had overview of almost everything and not spending to much time at searching direction, Kids...etc and also important is, it´s quieter. The entertainers(Julia and Bob, I had to extra mention their names) are so affable, kids like them quite well. One little not so positive incident was, at the second visit, our floor drain in shower cabinet was stocked. The mechanic came without saying to many words to let us know, that he is here for repairing the drain, just being cold and came into the shower room, after few minutes, again not things said or explained, he is just gone. We checked the drain, alright, it works again... kinda awkward there. Anyway, despite the little awkwardness, the vacations in this Camping Village was genuinely great. We would happy to...
