This review is only for the gluten free dishes and does not reflect for other dishes, also it reflects on the behavior of the stuff and management. Wine 5/5 Gluten free Lasagne 1/5 Gluten free bread served on the table 1/5 Gluten free Pizza Hawaii style 3/5
I'll start with the only thing I can think of that was good and it's the glass of red wine.
I hate shaming and dishing a business that give Celiac disease a menu choice with gluten free dishes, how ever, this establishment has also manage to behave in an unprofessional and rude manner.
I was one of the first at the opening hour, it took almost 10 minutes to recover attention from any waiter, I ordered the gf lasagne, glass of wine and the gf pizza to go. The order came out quite fast.
The lasagne was overcooked, probably microwaved, it looked flat as an omelette with tomato sauce and some meat, the béchamel was broken. I returned it and asked for the pizza and Bill. After a long time that the waitress didn't return I went to the front desk to the owner, asked for my pizza and the bill again. They charged me for the returned dish and when I refused to pay for it, she got mad, eventually dropped the charge for it. The restaurant appears also to charge "Cover charge" for the sum of 2 euro, when I asked what does it cover, the owner flipped the chip on me and got furious, speaking in a hi tone in Italian and German.
Only after one of the waiters arrived and explained to me in English, I understood the shame, The owner told its regularly charged in Italy, well... Shame on me after visiting Italy for the last 25 years not knowing that. Probably my fault as well.
I was insulted, I was angry and Hungry. I went out with out looking at the pizza. When arrived to the car I've noticed that the dow was not ready in all of the places. The gravy was good, not allot of prosciutto and the canned Ananas... Well you can see in the picture, it was put after the bake.
The bread that was free on the table was dry and cold, I didn't ask for it nor asked...
Read moreBeware of the beef!!!! I hate leaving bad reviews but we do it to help each other. This restaurant is in a beautiful setting but with mediocre food, terrible service and overpriced for what you get. Paying over the odds is fine but you expect at least the food to be good.
Mussels and Clams were quite nice, the prawns in Filo were frozen prawns in ketchup and Mayo with 2 slices of shop bought ridiculous filo. The Tuna with poppy seeds came out raw (it’s not a Sushi restaurant) and had to be sent back to be cooked more and it’s covered in so much poppy seeds it actually tastes like bread!!!
The worst is the Steaks. They offer a fillet (terrible quality beef) in pepper sauce, the sauce is the worst I’ve ever come across and what it actually is is a load of cream (yes cream) with whole peppercorns poured all over the meat and the plate. Absolutely vile and disgusting all 4 of us agreed. Be warned, it’s awful.
The desserts were terrible, the crème brulee was crème pat in a bowl with sugar on top and not grilled or blackened. The Tiramisu was mediocre and warm in the middle but the glass it came in was cold.
We were a table of 4 and a total of 5 waiters served us. 1 was good and the other 4 hadn’t a clue what we had ordered. I tried to complain to the elderly woman who takes your money but she was rude at best and had absolutely no interest in listening to me.
There you go, that’s an honest review. It’s a terrible shame because the setting is out...
Read moreWhile most of the staff at this venue were fine, not over the top, but polite and acceptable, one of the older male waiters was extremely inattentive and blatantly and consistently rude to my family for the duration of our meal. We waited for 30 mins after finishing our meals, mine being a mediocre beef tenderloin with a very bland pepper sauce (€25 by itself without sides, extremely overpriced for what was simply poor food), until eventually my father beckoned him over as he was passing so as to request desert menus. Immediately he (desert menus under his arm) retorts in a very rude tone that because it was beginning to spit rain he needs to do attend to that? After which he immediately turns around and serves another table. We were not impressed with his blunt and rude demeanour so requested the bill instead of the desert menus and then he became quite hostile and undeniably rude. Prior to this altercation he had been very rude from the get go, for example when we asked about particular dishes being gluten-free (as my brothers is a celiac) he almost rolled his eyes and bluntly stated ‘certified’. I can’t exaggerate how rude he was, nor how underwhelming and overpriced the food was. Apart from those points, the venue itself is in a...
