Pieve di Cadore is a pretty Italian village with a wonderful lake view. The Hotel Belvedere has some rooms with this lake view. However, the hotel itself is almost impossible to find. It has no road frontage. On the road, there is a very small (black) sign that says hotel Belvedere. You then have to walk down some steps, walk past their (closed at the moment) restaurant to find the hotel entrance. This entrance faces the side of another building and the walkway/steps. Read moreThis is a HARD place to find as both Apple Maps and Google Maps point to a road w a similar name which is about 2km away. When one has cycled about 80km in high heat this WAS a big deal!! Not the hotel’s fault btw. ||It has a great location in the centre of this picturesque town. The service in terms of assistance from the lady who checked me in was fantastic. Her English was excellent - important for someone whose Italian ranges from poor to non-existent. ||I ate at the restaurant at the hotel - and the fact that it wa full w locals was an indication of how good it was. ||Breakfast the next morning was great - same help from the lady who checked me in the day before and the owner made me a coffee to my own peculiar (non Italian) requirements.
