Hotel La Giocca — Hotel in Rome

BE AWARE, POOL NOT ACCESSIBLE! After our stay in the center of the Rome, we wanted to relax, so we chose this hotel for the pool. All we wanted to do is to lay down by the pool and this was the only reason for choosing this hotel. But all of a sudden, we are told that the pool is full and we cannot access it. We are also told that pool and the hotel are two separate businesses. So they can’t do anything about it. Before to book the hotel, we specifically asked if the pool was accessible and open. We were assured that the pool is open and accessible to us. So if you are coming to this hotel for the pool know that you might not access it. In the reception, Michele was super kind, many thanks to him. However, as we chose this hotel only for pool and that we can’t access it, makes me give 1 star. I would like to highlight that we went to pool at 10.30 am (basically the opening time). There were empty seats at the time. As a response to your answer below, 1 hour later we were told that there is a place in the pool but we have to pay €15 per person to access it. So regarding your covid rules, it seems like if we pay, there is no rule. When we were asked to pay €15, we came back to reception and they told us that that is totally normal they ask us to pay because the hotel is only bed and breakfast and the pool is extra. So at the end, there was place, only if we pay €15 per person. And you staff confirm this, by saying us indeed that we should pay for the pool and it is not included...

Hotel was definitely not what we expected and different from advertised. Arrived at hotel to be told too early for check in although this was not stated on any booking details. Waited in lobby for room to be ready. Was quite disappointed in room. Advertised as a 4 star but really 2 star at best. Room was relatively clean but very basic. The view was a busy road and a balcony area that was directly on to the fire exit. Planters with no plants etc. not very appealing to the eye. We booked this hotel as it has a pool but was informed by another guest that pool was closed and drained. When asked at reception no explanation was given. Pretty poor given the fact this advertised as a 4 star hotel with a pool. Location is also quite far out and 35 minutes drive by car. We paid extra to add breakfast and this was also lacking. Although we had a good break I would definitely not recommend this hotel. Bar/breakfast area also closed most of the time we passed it. Staff on reception would say hello but not friendly or helpful when asked for...

Our friends were given a room, but later on got moved to another room because the hotel wanted to free up their larger rooms with bigger beds and gave our friends the smaller rooms with single beds (our friends each booked individual rooms). This would have been fine if the smaller rooms were given to them from the start, but don't inconvenience them a day later because your staff were too incompetent to organize the more appropriately sized rooms for them from the beginning. Also, reception didn't greet you as you walked in, or say 'have a good day' as you walked out, or even just say hello to let you know that they're there for you, the paying customer. One of the ladies that worked in reception during the evening was fine though, she was friendly and helpful (I forgot her name), but not the others.
