The hotel is positioned directly next to the beach. There is a fine restaurant and a separately run bar serving drinks and food, both of which overlook the beach. The restaurant is excellent and so good we dinned there 3 evenings. Traditionally we would spend almost exclusively our evenings in town but after days out, the restaurant food and location as well as the bar made for chilled evenings. The pool is also adjacent to the beach but doesn’t have a view, which does provide privacy. This was spotlessly clean and well tended. ||Breakfast was very good with a great choice food and beverages. ||San Teodoro is a lovely town with plenty of bars restaurants and shops as well as an evening market. All traffic is shut off from the centre during the evenings which makes for a lovely environment to peruse, eat and drink. ||Now for the not so good stuff. The room we had at the hotel was modest in size and fairly basic in terms of decor but was well cleaned daily and included a small outside area of approximately 2m2 for a table and chairs, and ours happened to be right next to the path leading to the bar and restaurant entrance 10m away, so not by any means very private. On this front I think we were just unlucky but how you would know this before hand I don’t know. ||The worst thing however was the nightclub positioned about 200m away. This didn’t start until around midnight and went on until 5am. With the shutters and the double glazed windows closed this could not stop the base beat that felt like listening to your own heart beat. I’ve never used earplugs before but I did on this occasion but I’m not sure they are so effective for deep base and did little to minimise the sound. ||Would go to Sardinia again? Yes, it’s lovely. Would I eat at the hotel restaurant again? Yes, it was great. Would I stay at the hotel again? Unless I knew the nightclub wasn’t going to be open during my holiday,...
Read moreGreat location situated on the beach, 1k walk for the town of San Teodoro. This review is based on visiting at the end of the season and may differ in the peak season months. Hotel is clean, grounds are well kept, with beautiful gardens. Located on a great little beach area. Spacious bar area with restaurant, didn't try the restaurant but 10% discount for residences. Rooms are comfortable but compacted with very dull lighting which made it tricky for the ladys getting ready, also lack of sockets. The showers powerful but small. We had a superior double room its a confidential buffet style breakfast (7:30am-10am) and we found it pretty ok, plenty there, fresh produce which is constantly topped up and the price can be added to your room when booking, it's a good 1k up hill walk to the other nearest places Walls in rooms are pretty thin and reckon there could be a noise issue in the summers busier months so you would possibly want to visit when it's less crowded, October was the prefect time! The hotel and most the of the towns restaurants will close at the end of the season for around 4 months so check before you book!! Around November to March is the closed period. Wasn't to impressed with the restaurants that reception recommended but Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We reported a problem with our fridge and maintenance was there in 10mins to sort it out. The bar area does have live bands in the summer months. The hotel is situated alone on the beach front but there is a night club opposite but its was closed when we was there. No problems with sea weed on the beach like In some other reviews but this could be different in the summer months Overall we had a brilliant time and are already planning a return trip to this hotel. Also amazing Spa,...
Read moreIt saddens to me to leave any business a negative review, but feel it is important to do so in the case of this hotel to advise future travellers of certain elements.
The good: the rooms are clean, well presented and comfortable and the casual adjoining beach bar offers a quick and convenient service. The gardens are immaculate, and the parking convenient and secure.
The bad: the pool area is unsafe with loose stairs in and out, and old, unstable sunbeds - the pool access in particular being concerning given the focus on families at this property. The restaurant service is extremely slow with 45-60 minutes between courses (on one evening during our stay, after waiting close to an hour for our second course, elements arrived fridge-cold - these parts were recooked taking a further 5-10 minutes, and a token apology in the form of an after dinner liquer was granted after we requested something to make up for a dissapointing evening) and the admin teams do not adhere to Booking.com processes (having attempted to charge our cards contrary to the fact we have booked on a 'Pay at Property' basis).
Upon raising these issues with the property via Booking.com (where I requested a partial refund, feeling the quality did not match the price paid) they rejected all concerns, stating in particular to the pool issues that it was renovated three years ago, but made no mention of regular maintenence.
As a frequent traveller and someone who works in the travel industry, it is rare to encounter such poor service at a property in this price range, but even more suprising that they were unwilling to accept any...
