Hotel Internazionale — Hotel in Torri del Benaco

My son and I booked our holiday through Inghams Lakes and Mountains and we stayed at the Hotel Internazionale for 4 nights. The room allocated to us was fabulous, very spacious, open plan and clean. There was a moving partition to separate the bathroom/shower area for privacy and it was decorated with lovely Italian tiles. It pays to have a lake view with balcony as rooms at the rear look onto a stony rock face! I read other Tripadvisor reviews before departure and I agree wholeheartedly with reports of the bad food in the restaurant, with it not being up to standard. There is confusion on first arrival as no waiter welcomes you to advise where to sit or what to do, even though it would be easy enough as guests are allocated named tables. The breakfast buffet has rock hard inedible rolls, tinned fruit, no toast for the fried eggs served and no other hot choice of bacon or sausage. There is a good selection of ham and cheese and cake. In the evening the salad bar is good but the food is again of disappointing quality and one evening we had turkey which was simply turkey roll with a blob of gravy on top and a couple of slices of potato. The pasta and fish dishes were okay but nothing to write home about. Desserts are not a feature of the meal, so we only had Carte D'or scoops of ice cream (laughable when you are in Italy!) or a blancmange! Service was extremely slow and you had to pay for drinks upfront and could not put them on your room number. I asked the reason for this and was told that the restaurant is separate to the hotel, so this explains a lot. In my opinion the hotel is worth its star rating but the restaurant sadly is not.||The town of Torri Del Benaco is lovely and it's an easy 20 minute walk along the lake path, market day is Monday with lots of stalls. We also had a super boat trip to Sirmione (Tuesdays) which you can book at hotel reception. I recommend eating at the friendly Bar David in the town and going for an after dinner drink at the bar 200 yards to the left going out...

LA PRESENTE RECENSIONE E' RELATIVA ALLE QUATTRO STELLE ASSEGNATE A QUESTO Hotel, CHE NON MERITA ASSOLUTAMENTE !!! Quando abbiamo scelto l'offerta dell'Hotel Internazionale di Torri del Benaco sul Lago di GARDA, basandoci su alcune recensioni lette (ma non documentate), ci siamo convinti ad acquistarla. All'arrivo, tra panorama e bellezza del luogo, il primo impatto è stato positivo, ma pian piano, abbiamo cominciato a scoprire i lati negativi della nostra scelta. Un hotel direttamente sul Lago, ma con una pericolosissima Strada Statale da attraversare, dopo la quale non esiste alcuna spiaggia attrezzata. In alternativa, offre una piscina, discretamente curata, ma con piccoli pericoli nascosti. C'è un'ottima disponibilità di parcheggio interno, di cui una parte direttamente sul locale Rifiuti, ma non custodito. Alla Reception, disponibilità e cortesia sono lodevoli, dove viene preteso da ogni ospite, il pagamento anticipato del soggiorno, cosa che sconsiglio ASSULUTAMENTE di fare!!! soprattutto nel suddetto Hotel, per esperienza personale. La modalità di pagamento è un pò ambigua. Le camere si pagano in qualsiasi modalità con ricevuta, ma tassa di soggiorno solo in contanti e SENZA RICEVUTA! Del resto come tutte le consumazioni all'interno dell'albergo. L'hotel in sé, risulta antiquato e un pò lasciato andare. L'Ascensore è piccolo e maleodorante. Ai piani, bisogna fare attenzione al pavimento che, decorato con moquette centrale non a livello, si dimostra un po pericolosa. La camera, con una bellissima vista sul Lago, è risultata anch'essa antiquata, sporca e minimalista, con lenzuola bucate e presenza di piccoli ospiti sul pavimento. Il bagno, piuttosto buio, è anch'esso vecchio, sporco e con mobilia di fortuna (Vedere FOTO). Tutti fattori che, quando entri in un Hotel che sulla facciata espone QUATTRO Stelle, non puoi ASSOLUTAMENTE Accettare! Alla sera, dopo esserci riposati da un viaggio di sei ore, ci siamo recati nel Ristorante dell'Albergo, avendo optato per una Mezza-Pensione, con il desiderio di mangiare qualcosa di buono. L'ennesima delusione! Un Buffet di Verdure assortite, che si vedeva dall'altra parte del Lago che erano del giorno prima e riscaldate. Tristissimo anche il Buffet delle Insalate, anch'esso non proprio fresco, come lo stesso pane servito. Al tavolo, dove purtroppo Posate e Bicchieri non erano sempre al Top, ordini le bevande, extra alla Pensione, per le quali non ricevi mai una ricevuta fiscale. Il Menù giornaliero, col quale puoi scegliere tra due diversi tipi di primi, secondi ed una Zuppa, è scadente ed elementare. Il Dessert è sempre incluso ma a sorpresa. Voto alla Cucina? Pessima! Senza sale o salatissima, minimalista e da principianti! Piatti di Pesce congelato e prodotti non freschi. Tra Lunedì con il Pollo e Martedì con un Filetto di Pesce, in due diversi Menù, ci hanno servito le stesse Patate al Forno, riscaldate. VERGOGNOSO !!! Per chi arriva in Italia per la prima volta, questo è il biglietto da visita. La mattina successiva dal nostro arrivo, c'eravamo augurati di fare una buona colazione. Che dire? Tristissimo. Il pane della sera prima era ancora lì, come ne i giorni successivi. La colazione misera. Cornetti riscaldati, secchi e senza Volume. Caffè pessimo! praticamente acqua sporca. Succhi di Frutta mescolati ad una così elevata quantità d'acqua, che non sapevano di nulla. Lasciando perdere che, in vita mia non ho MAI e dico MAI visto un Succo d'Arancia MARRONE! I Salumi di pessima Qualità, con un Prosciutto per Toast che della parola Qualità non ha mai sentito parlare. Discreto il Salame, buono il Formaggio. Nel Buffet della frutta, le stesse merci, presentate tutti i giorni allo stesso modo e nelle stesse ciotole, misti alle Verdure della sera prima. Personale discreto. Purtroppo la lista delle cose negative è lunghissima e non è possibile scriverle tutte, ma ripeto, in un HOTEL che si SPACCIA di essere un QUATTRO Stelle (probabilmente comprate) non è...

Wir waren für eine Woche in diesem Hotel. Es liegt ca. 2km vom Ort Torri del Benaco entfernt. Direkt vom Hotel über die Straße ist man am Gardasee. Um einen Spaziergang zu machen ist es ideal, zum Schwimmen eher ungeeignet aufgrund der großen Steine die es sehr erschweren ins Wasser zu kommen. Zudem sind fußläufig auch keine Geschäfte oder Restaurants (außer einen kleinen Pizzeria- sehr zu empfehlen- in 500m) in der Nähe. Dies bedarf es immer einen Fußweg von mindestens 25min bis in den Ort. Wie dieses Hotel über 4 Sterne verfügen kann, ist mir ein Rätsel. Höchstens 2 Sterne wären angemessen. Die gesamte Anlage und die Zimmer sind stark renovierungsbedürftig. Irgendwo in den 70ern ist es stehengeblieben. Alles ist abgewohnt und unmodern. Der Pool ist klein und rundherum ungepflegt. Im Boden befanden sich teils sehr große Löcher, die ein erhebliches Unfallrisiko darstellten. Die Liegen waren ebenfalls alt und zum Teil kaputt. Der Olivenhain im Eingangsbereich des Hotels diente als Parkplatz. Im Inneren des Hotels war ebenfalls alles sehr alt und teilweise marode. Die 2 Fahrstühle waren sehr klein und nicht sehr vertrauenserweckend. Man hatte bei der Geräuschkulisse Angst irgendwo stecken zu bleiben. Wir nutzten lieber die Treppe. Die Zimmer waren relativ groß. Das Mobiliar war alt und abgewohnt und es gab statt einem Doppelbett, zwei Einzelbetten. Diese waren, so wie das gesamte Zimmer sehr sauber. Das ist wirklich ein positiver Aspekt, das immer gut sauber gemacht wurde und es täglich frische Wäsche und Handtücher gab. An unserem Zimmer war ein Balkon der von allen anliegenden Zimmern benutzt werden konnte. Es gab keine Trennwände, sodass jeder zu jeder Zeit Zugang zu anderen Zimmern gehabt hatte. Der Ausblick wurde als Bergblick beschrieben. Wir schauten auf eine Felswand, wie in einem Betonbunker. Nicht sonderlich schön. Die Verpflegung im Hotel war für uns eine Katastrophe! Zum Frühstück wurde täglich das gleiche serviert. 2 Sorten Wurst, 1 Sorte Käse, Dosenobst, kalte Eierspeisen und knochenharte Brötchen. Ab und an gab es auch mal frisches Obst, aber je mehr Gäste es wurden umso geringer wurde das Angebot. Der Kaffee aus dem Automaten schmeckte ganz gut und stellte das Highlight dar. Die angebotenen "Säfte" waren irgendetwas mit Wasser verdünnt. Undefinierbar und ungenießbar. Das Abendessen machte uns ebenfalls sprachlos. Das Salat Buffet bestand immer aus Schüsseln in denen sich Ruccola, Tomaten, Eisberg und Karotten befanden, die lediglich aus einer Tüte umgefüllt worden waren. Zudem wurde dieses Angebot mit "Salatkreationen" erweitert, die aus den Resten des Vortages zusammengeführt wurden. Dann konnte man zwei Gänge wählen, die eingesetzt wurden. Der erste Gang bestand entweder aus einem Pastagericht oder einer Suppe. Die Suppe kam aus der Dose und wurde von Tag zu Tag mit weiteren Ingredenzien erweitert um ihr einen neuen Namen geben zu können. Die Nudeln wurden mit Tütensoßen serviert und schmeckten überhaupt nicht. Die Krönung stellten die "Hauptgänge" dar. Diese bestanden entweder aus Fleisch oder Fisch, welche zu Tode gekocht waren und einer lieblosen Beilage wie Erbsen und Möhren ohne jegliches Gewürz. Wer hier auf italienische Küche alla Nonna gehofft hat, wurde bitter enttäuscht. Zudem fanden wir auch die Müllproduktion, die durch die unzähligen Portionstütchen (Salz, Pfeffer, Öl, Essig, Ketchup, etc.) verursacht wurde grauenhaft. Wir sind dann schließlich essen gegangen in der kleinen Pizzeria die 500m vom Hotel entfernt war. Diese können wir nur empfehlen. Das war Dolce Vita und Nonnaküche wie wir uns sie erhofft hatten. Alles in allem, würden wir sehr gern wieder an den Gardasee kommen, da es traumhaft schön ist, aber nie wieder in dieses Hotel. Es ist...
