We booked for three nights - we left without unpacking our bags - ||||We were still charged for the three nights - ||||The hotel prides itself on its Michelin Starred restaurant. The food was awful. Ricotta and ham and pork and an undercooked egg plus badly selected wine. The worst Michelin starred for I have eaten in hundreds of meals.||||The hotel is style over substance. ||||The lift system is weird - and there aren't enough lifts either.||||The website is simply a lie - they may as well show a picture of the Caribbean as it bears no resemblance t the truth - which is a 500 yard long 100 foot high shabby brick and cement warehouse that obscures the front view - do not be fooled by the pictures on th website - NONE OF WHICH SHOW THE TRUTH||||When we complained we were treated with utter disdain - the staff are obviously sed to guests being totally shocked at how bad this hotel is. The manager was coaxed out after 20 minutes - and pretended to speak not a word of english - not "Hello" or " Sorry" or "Hi". he prattled on in Italian to his staff and made no eye contact.||||The manager was also the disgusting chef. His food was utterly terrible. I regularly spend £1,000 on a deal - and at £350 for two this was totally disgusting.||||When you read the shocking accusations by the manager when he reads complaints - its always the guests at fault NOT him and his rotten hotel - you understand why this hotel stinks for top to bottom.||||It's by a long shot the worst 5 star - even worst 4 or 3 star hotel - that I have ever checked into.||||I spent £575 a night for a room for three nights - and left after 34 hours without pulling back a sheet - and they refused to refund us our room - presumably they are in financial trouble or they would have understood why they need to try to keep people happy. ||||We left and went to the Bellevue Syrene in Sorrento - not much dearer and 1000% better.||||The hotel Romeo (what an absurd and ironic choice of name for a shoddy hotel) is a shambles and its manager...
Read moreWe stayed in Romeo for 1/2 of our holiday period. This was our third visit to this hotel. While we expected rooms to be very basic, we decided to give it another go because of the food. Well, during our last visit, the quality of the food significantly got worse: strange 'meaty' substance in the cannelloni, extremely salty sups, tasteless courgettes, salad tomato with mold etc. I still can't figure out the trick with the dirty serviettes in the envelops and unchanged table cloths with chocolate spillage and tomato sauce for two two days.||||The room was extremely small and basic dusty room. Asked for a double bed, got two beds put together and covered by a double sheet, so was constantly falling into the gap between the beds. Killed at lest three earwigs in the bed - yuck...!!! Extremely uncomfortable mattress and pillows. The shower room was extremely old and moldy. For three days we stayed in the hotel the corridor strongly smelled tobacco. Complained about this (as one of my kids is asthmatic) nothing changed. Old soiled stinky carpet in the corridor. No fridge in the room. For three nights we stayed there the hot water as well as heating was turned off sharp at midnight - very strange coincidence or a strange way to save money. Well, I suspect it was our last visit to this hotel.||||The only one good thing about our room was complementary WiFi with...
Read moreThis is a decent enough hotel in an excellent location . To start our room was in the annex overlooking the pool area and was clean and adequate . It was quiet and the shutters were excellent in shutting out light and noise . The bathroom was very small I would liken it to a bathroom in a caravan , having said that it was a pretty good shower and we always had hot water . Meal times however were a problem our waitress spoke very little English and while ordinarily that would not bother me it did irritate me no end that while we were expected to make an effort with our very limited Italian ( our own fault I know , but stick with me ) , our German neighbours on either side were very well accommodated with some excellent German and were not expected to speak any Italian ! I found this very unfair and it made me quite angry ! Also some guests were able to sit outside for breakfast which would have been nice but we were told it wasn't Possible . Having said that the food in spite of the service which was slow and disorganized was really quite good . Lastly the tourist tax , this was supposed to cover amenities such as news papers and wi fi , every paper and magazine was German and they neglected to tell us the password for internet till our last evening so ........ would I stay here again ? Possibly but only on a room only basis so as to avoid the circus of...
