Don't know what I was expecting but didn't live up to 4 star for me.
Lady on the desk was great and very helpful but I had difficultly dealing with any of the other staff. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the centre which isn't too bad and there's a bus stop right outside.
Positives - They sell bus tickets for €1.50 on the desk. Room was clean Breakfast had a reasonable choice Wifi seemed to work very well. Amazing how handy it is when you're used to UK hotels and either using up your data allowance on day one or paying a fortune for 1 hour of use.
Negatives - Double was two single beds. I'm sure I saw another review seeming to suggest this was the only option. Maybe we just got the wrong room. There's no restaurant (Well there is for a big group booking but I suspect you'd be better off finding a local restaurant instead) and the "ring bell for service" bar basically just sells bottles and is a small area in the corner with 3 tables. In general there wasn't really anything to the hotel at all other than your room. You can get a few bits of food at the bar, which the part time bar man will disappear off to heat up, but it's very basic cheap food. You're better off popping round the corner to McDonalds if you want some quick food - or just go get a pizza from the great little takeaway next to Lidl instead! Small minibar in room (which was ok) but couldn't see any pricing info so we didn't know if you had to pay (you did) or how much. In fact there didn't seem to be a hotel guide or any info in the room at all detailing contacts/facilities etc. We didn't even know they sold bus tickets until we looked at reviews. Tea/coffee facilities in the room would be nice. My partner was ill for a few days and the only option for a hot drink outside of breakfast time was to buy one at the bar.
In general it was an OK hotel and the room was comfortable and clean. It's likely on par price and facility wise with other hotels in the area, but I did find it a bit difficult to part with around €800 at the end...
Read moreThere is nothing that makes this place special. At first impression the lobby is very nice but that is where it ends. It needs some maintenance and a makeover. Be advised that yes you can park for free on the street the underutilized parking garage is 10 euro per day. Parking should be free, period. We stayed 2 nights. The price we were charged (even after a requested discount) is more than any online travel service so I recommend don't deal directly if you decide to stay here. Additionally, breakfast is not included free. They offer the rooms without breakfast and at a greater price with breakfast. Breakfast was pretty good including fruit, meats, cheese, croissants, bread, cereal, eggs, bacon, juices and a few other things but not sure its worth the extra price. I had cereal and the milk was warm and tasted like long conservation milk. Our room was clean and comfortable but the walls had scuffs (and so do the hallways) and the curtains were torn. There is only one convenient power plug on the desk and none on the nightstands. There is an in room refrigerator and a safe but the safe is too small to put much more than a passport and billfold in. My laptop would not fit. The tv is TINY! The toilet seat would not stay up, you have to hold it up when standing at the toilet. When sitting down the seat is made for small people. I'm not a big person but larger than average and the seat was, well, just not a good fit. The cups in the bathroom are very lightweight and would not hold my toothbrush. There is no view but it was quiet. The worse thing is our room was very warm. Even with the air running constantly the room was not cool or comfortable. I do not think this comes close to being 4 stars. I would not...
Read moreThis hotel could work, but there are too many small (and not-so-small) issues that make the experience frustrating.
Let’s start with something serious: construction noise inside the hotel at 8:00 AM — in August. No guest expects to be woken up by drilling and banging while on holiday. Completely unacceptable.
Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly — that’s a plus. The room was spacious and visually okay, but one curtain didn’t close, and the air conditioning turned itself on at 4:30 AM, even though we had switched it off manually.
The TV was small and not a Smart TV, no Wi-Fi, no streaming — which is standard in 2025. The wardrobe was tiny, we only got one set of towels for two, and the toiletries were minimal and needed constant refills. The telephone in the room looked like it hadn’t been changed in over 20 years, completely outdated and barely functional.
The hallway carpets were visibly dirty and worn, clearly not deep-cleaned in a long time.
The breakfast was the weakest of our 8-day trip through Italy (5 different 4-star hotels). Poor in both quantity and quality. As an example, the only oil available for bread was a sweet salad-style sachet, not real olive oil.
The lobby is spacious and well-equipped, but honestly, not as stylish or elegant as the photos suggest. There's a sense that the place is trying to look more upscale than it really is.
The location is about a 15–20 min walk from the centre of Verona, so not ideal unless you’re driving. One real positive: free indoor parking, secure and very convenient.
In short: this feels more like a 3-star hotel, trying to live off its old reputation. Rating: 2 out of 5....
