Passable onsen and hotel. The views over the sea are rather beautiful though. So if dining in the restaurant on the third floor, or relaxing in the onsen (separated mens and womens areas), you can allow your mind to really slip away with the flow of the water. The food is passable. Lunch was OK, from the look of it, better flavours were expected. Though it was rather bland for certain dishes, then far too strong for others. The service was also relatively abrupt. Everything is brought on a tray, then you are just left. We would have liked more water, though there was no-one to ask. Note that the restaurant was quiet, we had an early start, so opted for lunch at 11am, there were 10 people including us in the restaurant, and the three servers just disappeared. The onsen baths are pleasant. Though they lack a cold plunge bath, which would have been great. Hard to believe this onsen resort is owned and operated by Postal Service of Japan! All ocean view rooms overlooking gorgeous mirror like Setouchi Sea. Real hot spring onsen outdoor is a prefect place to see the sunrise. The restaurant serves breakfast buffet style with fresh local catches. Heavenly for those gluten sensitive. Each room is very spacious. Really enjoyed Japanese tatami room with beds. Staffs are all friendly and trying. Not like push commercial resorts, but that's just another charm. Reservation via HP. Also non overnight option plan combining gourmet lunch and onsen available. But why not enjoy their 12 course dinner and relaxing hot spring which is open till midnight, good night sleep to wake up for breakfast at sunrise all...

We forgot to inform the hotel that there were vegetarian members in our group at the time of booking, but the kitchen was able to prepare a wonderful vegetarian dinner for us at the last minute! We were truly impressed by the sincerity and quality of the service. The rooms and the outdoor hot springs offer amazing views to the ocean which was most relaxing and refreshing for us.
