Tucked away from the busy streets of Beppu’s city center, Hotel Beppu Pastoral offers a peaceful and immersive Japanese experience that was both relaxing and memorable. While the hotel is located slightly outside the main downtown area, it is still easily accessible via public transportation, and its tranquil surroundings make it an excellent choice for those seeking a quieter, more traditional atmosphere.
One of the highlights of this stay was undoubtedly the public bath facilities, particularly the open-air onsen. Thoughtfully designed and well-maintained, the outdoor bath allowed for a truly enjoyable and rejuvenating experience throughout the duration of my stay. The blend of warm waters and fresh air, along with the beautifully landscaped bath area, created the perfect setting to unwind after a day of exploring Beppu.
Another charming feature of the hotel is its well-kept garden and proximity to lovely walking paths. The on-site landscaping is meticulously cared for and reflects the seasonal beauty of Japan. In summary, Hotel Beppu Pastoral is a hidden gem for those seeking a calm and culturally rich stay in Beppu. With excellent onsen facilities, beautiful natural surroundings, and easy access to public transit despite its quieter location, it’s a wonderful option for anyone wanting to enjoy Beppu beyond the typical tourist paths—especially during the breathtaking cherry...
Read moreWe love the first two days at Beppu. This hotel is very clean just like any other Japanese hotel. ||||They have all the essentials laid up in the toilet and other furnishings have a bit of modern twist to the traditional feel. We arrived late and could not be any happier to see local snacks in the room and the hot flask was already filled with hot water and we could make some green tea instantly. The onsen was great, many pools to choose from. As it was raining, we did not enjoy outdoor bath a lot. The water quality is adequate but cannot match the Nagano water with heavy sulfa, less milky and no smell.||||We looked forward for the breakfast daily especially to their local small cold dishes. They were prepared freshly in the morning and we felt the sincerity although it was meant to cater to hundreds of customers. The menu does change daily so you don't get bored.||||Convenient to travel around with a car, not by public transport.||||One down side though, there were really tombs everywhere and you must be mentally...
