A rip-off. What kind of hotel makes so many demands of its guests?
The good: Breakfast buffet, clean, spacious room, view of Mt. Fuji.
The bad: Right before check-in I was told I couldn't be in my own room from 10am to 3pm!! The slip of paper they gave me said that /even if you're sick/ you have to pay 1000 yen per hour just to be in your room during that time! I'd booked a hotel in order to get work done, so this impacted my work and I just couldn't relax. They entered my room twice when I told them I didn't need any housekeeping.
There are signs on the toilets saying men have to pee sitting down! People in work clothes need to get changed asap! Shoes have to be put in a special basket! Read moreThe male member of staff that checked us in was rude. Spoke over us when asking him questions (we speak Japanese) and when we politely requested a room with a view of Fuji, he acknowledged it and then gave us a room at the back of the hotel. Just very weird behaviour all round.||In the morning at the breakfast buffet one of the female members of staff was also rude and spoke to us in a hostile way. No need for attitude at a hotel buffet - just felt really odd.||There was a female member of staff working on reception who checked us out and she was very pleasant! We spoke in Japanese and then she also spoke with us in English which was really kind of her to do - so it seems not all staff are rude! ||Before booking this hotel I'd read other reviews that said similar things but I thought I'd give it a chance. I probably should have just listened to the reviews haha.||The room was ok for what we paid - big TV and the bed was comfortable. No plugs by the bed though and the carpets were pretty dirty. Glad they provided slippers...
