東山ロッヂ — Hotel in Gotenba

We were picked up by the family's father who drove us back from gotembo station free of charge. (Not to mention the courtesy of bringing us anywhere we wanted to go after that) When we arrived the whole family greeted us at the entrance with such warmth and joy. We were given tea and treats and then shown around this beautiful authentic Japanese lodge surrounded by a gorgeous forest. It was so quiet and a perfect getaway from the bustle of Tokyo. The beds were out of this world comfortable, they had a heated bath we could use and a comforting dining room with a TV, massage chair and our own refreshment table. If I could live here I would and that is hard for me to say. I will definitely bring my kid back here when I have one to see their roots and to stay close to the family. Oh, forgot to mention they have a washer and dryer AND close to some amazing botanical gardens, a Michelin star French restaurant and...
