Hakuba Montblanc Snow trip for family of 4 The hotel manager Anis was very helpful and obliging. They provided drop off and pick up to and from Hakuba Goryu bus station, which was very helpful. Location is not too far from Goryu Escal Plaza. While there’re scheduled free shuttles that take you to/from the Plaza, walking time is about 15mins. We’ve done it many times with all our snow gear on, it’s quite a pleasant walk.
Discount is also available via the hotel for snow gear hire at Cherry rental. You can also get discount for lift tickets to Goryu, Imori and Hakuba 47. Not the valley pass though.
Breakfast - personally I don’t mind it, while my partner is not a big fan. But it’s fuel for the day on the slopes. There’s always a daily serving of eggs either scrambled, quiche or cheesy egg roll. Some coleslaw or salad with dressing (my partner doesn’t like this), mashed potatoes, some cold meat or Frankfurt sausage. There’re also warm milk buns, French fries (yes for breakfast!), fried fish or chicken nuggets and stir fried noodles. So, not the usual breakfast I guess? Room - Japanese style. At the end of a day on the snowfield, you’re really after a warm toasty room and a nice hot shower. The room is not luxurious but fulfills the purpose.
Note: The upper rooms are quieter.
The bathroom is tiny, so be prepared. I think a few hooks in the bathroom would be very useful, you can at least hang your clothes and towel in there. There’re some nice restaurants close by. And if you want some western food, we definitely recommend the Tracks Bar opposite to the hotel. I love the Tracks Deluxe burger. If you’re into Sashimi, there’s also a restaurant within 5 minutes away. Street food stalls is left of the hotel, less than 5 mins walk. You can get gyoza, udon, hot sake, Waygu skewers and some red bean Japanese sweet dessert. If you’re on a budget, there’s a microwave available in the common area. The hotel sells instant noodles and snacks. Vending machines for drinks and beers are also available.
Hotel also provides free shuttle service in the evening to a nearby onsen and 7-11 convenience store.
We generally like staying away from crowds, so this is a nice chilled...

Read moreJust had the most magical week on the snow. Our family of 5 stayed at Mont Blanc Hotel for our ski holiday. It has been the most family friendly place to stay, the location is perfect with many restaurants/bars near by within walking distance Making it very easy to eat. Well worth The convenience of ski in ski out only 5 mins walk to the gondola) ||We opted for a Japanese style room, very cosy and comfortable, gave us more room with all our ski gear.||||Mr Sakura And his wonderful friendly team are more than happy to drop and pick you up anywhere, to and from dinner, pop to seven 11 for supplies, to get rental gear, and go to near by ski hills which was so helpful with 3 kids (Including a toddler who still needed days naps). ||The hotel went over and above to make our experience more Memorable enjoyable. They even reserved one of the onsens in the hotel for our family to enjoy a private onsen together on the quieter evenings (usually men and woman bathe separately) it was such a nice experience to do this as a family after a long day on the slopes - very relaxing and clean. They also opened the restaurant just for us and cooked just about anything even things that were not on the menu for the kids. Mr Sukura really went above and beyond to help with our train and bus itineraries (making little maps) he helped with schedules, buying tickets, lifts to the station and suggestions on sight seeing. We broke up our ski week and did a day visit to Nagano and saw the snow monkeys (we went on a weekend day as the ski hill is more busy)||Overall 10/10 for our stay at Mont Blanc|| Hotel, great location, family friendly, very welcoming staff. ||Great for large groups || highly recommend...
