ラーメンマル（RAMEN SHOP MARU） — Restaurant in Hakuba

Ramen Maru is an absolute gem of Goryu. Not only was it the best ramen we had in the Hakuba area, but the best we had during our travels in Japan! We ended up eating both lunch and dinner here in one day because we loved it so much!

I found this place with a craving for gyoza but as the name suggests it is primarily a ramen restaurant - and the ramen blew us away with its rich flavour. We tried nearly all the ramen options on the menu - butter corn was the winner for me, but they were all delicious!

The staff are so lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we not only enjoyed a delicious, authentic meal, but also to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. The chef is incredibly sweet and it is obvious he takes great pride in creating his meals.

It is worth noting that this restaurant is currently cash only - nearest ATM is at 7/11 which is about a 15 minute walk away - so come prepared!

Best Ramen I have had in Hakuba! On PAR w my favourite Ramen places in Tokyo and Sapporo. Sapporo Style Ramen w lots of broth options and amazing Gyoza.

I found this little Ramen shop when I saw one good review on Google and decided instead of going to all those popular places with a bunch of average ratings by tourists who tbh don’t know any better. I decided to give this place a try, I wanted to be the second person to review this place.

The food is amazing, the portion size is FILLING! The owners are so nice and friendly and even saw us to the exit. Can’t ask for better food in Hakuba. So much better than all the other ramen restaurants nearby, like Takahashike or Momochan. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it. The price is too low for such...

This place was a wonderful surprise. We were scratching around for somewhere to eat, everything was booked so pleaded with them to let us in. Despite closing time being 08:30pm we were seated at 8:45pn because they promised us we would be fed and we were treated to some of the best ramen in Hakuba. Everything about the place was a delight, from the food , the cosy atmosphere and the hosts regaling us with stories of surfing in Indo long after we thought we had overstayed our welcome. I can't recommend the place...
