Yamato — Local services in Hakuba

While in Hakuba, I noticed this restaurant near my hotel was quite popular, and we had to wait before being seated. There weren't many options for soba, and despite seeing soba with yuzu in Google Maps reviews, it wasn't available when we asked. The serving time was really long, taking 30 minutes. While waiting, I thought they could provide the ocha refill on the table rather than only serving it once and offering the refill after the meal is served (by the way, I really liked the ocha). This was my first time trying soba noodles, and I chose the mushroom topping. The portion of noodles was large, and the amount of topping was adequate, but it turns out soba is not...

Soba “Japanese buckwheat noodles” restaurant. Prices and portions are normal, I had cold noodles in large serve. Not sweet, but thick sauce is my favourite.

I really recommend cold soba with kurumi tsuyu, and ask for the soba yu to combined with the tsuyu left over. Dont forget to mix the tsuyu...
