Great place to stay for a day. Make sure to come on time of you're only staying for one day so you can enjoy the onsens properly. We got here around 14:00, and brought some food before dinner. There are grocery stores nearby (10 minute walk) but it's not a very big supply just some simple stuff which can get you through lunch.

The onsens are great and I can see why they were fully booked. The food they offer during dinner and the breakfast is great (it's like sophisticated home cooking, not fatty and great in looks and flavor). They give you clothing to wear, slippers and a towel. When you go here then prepare to stay here for the rest of the day and don't go out. It's a great place to fully relax.

The hosts are very nice, polite, and they take care of you very well. The host spoke good English and they have added a drawing of all the food you will be eating.

We got here by car, but I noticed that some people came here by taxi or by public transport.

Would...

Hotel Hiina is kind of those special onsen hotels that you really come to if you know what you're looking for. Located right on the gravely shores you are constantly reminded by the soft crashing of waves. The hotel has numerous private onsen that can be used by guests without and reservation all overlooking the beach. The rooms and overall building it's showing it's age but I argue that's part of the charm. The highlight of the stay has to be the dinner plan which for us included a huge seafood spread like I'd never seen before. Lobster, abalone, golden eye snapper (exclusive only to Shizuoka).

The staff are friendly and welcoming as you've come to expect in these small town...

The hotel is in a small town in Shizuoka.|Location is great. It's face to the ocean.|It's 10 minutes walk from Katase-Shirata station and 15 minutes from Izu-Ata station.||The hotel is decorated in modern Japanese style. We stayed here for a couple nights after 10 days in the larger cities - Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and it was the perfect relaxing end to the trip. The area is quiet with springs everywhere and a beautiful ocean view. The staff is amazing! They are very eager to help with check in and carrying luggage up to the rooms. Speaking of, while the rooms are a little dated, they have gorgeous views of the ocean! Taking a bath on the balcony was a great way to unwind. The public onsen were also beautiful to stay in under the stars with perfectly hot water. Highly recommend this place!
