Our recent stay at this Japanese-style hotel with my kids exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the exceptional service and the immaculate cleanliness of the entire establishment.

First and foremost, the service provided by the staff was truly outstanding. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Despite the language barrier, they made every effort to communicate with my non-Japanese speaking family members effectively and ensure that we felt welcome. Their genuine kindness towards my non-Japanese speaking family was highly appreciated.

The hotel's onsen, known for its cleanliness and tranquility, was an absolute highlight. The facilities were superbly maintained, and the hot springs were pristine. It was a truly rejuvenating experience for both adults and children alike. The attention to cleanliness and hygiene in the onsen area was commendable, providing a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.

Although we regrettably didn't have the opportunity to experience dinner at the hotel, the breakfast exceeded our expectations. The wide variety of food options available left us spoilt for choice. It was a delightful culinary journey that left us energized for the day ahead. Now I am regretting that I did not have dinner there...

Overall, we had a fantastic stay at this Japanese-style hotel. The exceptional service, immaculate cleanliness, and amazing onsen experience made it truly memorable. The staff's kindness towards our family and their efforts to bridge the language gap added a special touch to our stay. If given the chance, I would undoubtedly choose to stay at this hotel again. Thank you for providing us with an exceptional experience that we will cherish for...

Great experience Ground floor Onsen: ground floor has individual outdoor tubs, an igloo for cold temp, two large hot baths , a small cold bath and a sauna room. Top (8) floor Onsen: has an outdoor bath, two large hot baths , a small cold bath and a sauna room. Both onsens are free to use for hotel guests. Time to use them is split between women and men so each group has access to both floors just at different times. Location: Top of hill with shuttle bus from train onsen station to hotel and back. Limited times, helpful staff. Some public buses also go from near the train station to the base of the hill below the hotel. Restaurants: mostly closed. Breakfast is on 3rd floor with a wide selection of food. Dinner is part of your stay package or you need to get outside before you return in the evening. Staff: very friendly and helpful staff at front desk, breakfast, lobby, shuttle...always friendly and helpful Language: mostly japanese though a few can speak some English, one lady was very good. Notes: This Onsen area has limited transport and nearby activities in the evening time, so plan to relax and soak in evening at hotel once you...

This was my first ryokan experience and it blew my mind out.

Came here during end of Winter late Feb, it was still snowing.

The services were good, decent English (good enough to communicate)

The lobby’s green tea latte machine awesome.

The location is covered by a shuttle bus, if you miss it, take a taxi, it’s around 1000 yen or so.

Alternatively you can consider rent a Toyota nearby from Kaminoyama onsen station which is directly outside if you planning to drive in the area which traffic is decent, manageable (right hand driving)

The ryokan experience wouldn’t be complete without including the dinner which was a lot of courses.

The price is decent/reasonable.

Seen many locals coming for a quick getaway over on the weekend too.

The onsen experience is amazing clean, written instructions in English for tourists.

The futon was real snug and comfortable at night for my first experience.

Toiletries use pola brand which is so good. You probably don’t need to use any of your own toiletries as almost everything is provided including a set of...

This ryokan seems to be very famous as during my stay, there were crowded with hotel guests. The dinner and breakfast were enjoyable. They have a shuttle to pick and send their guests to and from the train station. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful too. We booked this ryokan through Agoda. This platform downgraded our room due to their internal technical error. They offered compensation of only 50% of the price difference between the 2 rooms. There is no way we are accepting this. It is like you ordered a bag of 1000 dollar and they sent you one that costs 500 dollar and offered to compensate you 250 dollar for sending you the wrong bag. This is a great scam. The hotel mentioned that this is not the 1st incident involving Agoda. I WILL NEVER EVER USE AGODA TO BOOK MY VACATION FROM NOW ON.

It’s a ryokan, you know it’s going to be good. We got the big room for 9 people mostly for the private onsen (as much as I love Japanese culture I’m still not down to strip down naked with a bunch of strangers). Food was good, not as stunning as expected, service was excellent. I feel so guilty for having them wrestle with my down giant, heavy suitcases but they insist I relax and let them do the work. As an American used to being fleeced, the gift shop had shockingly reasonably price desserts, drinks, gifts, etc. Also try out the pudding shop opposite the entrance, silky smooth texture with great simple flavors (just don’t hit your head on the lamp when standing back up and scare the poor waitress).
