First of all, exceptional hospitality. If you are looking for authentic Japanese food and futon style room, you need to try this place. I do understand in the comments why some visitors were annoyed by being told what and how to eat the dinner. However, I did appreciate the host showing us the authentic way to enjoy the meal, as the meal was prepared with love and care. The two meals included in the room price, which were breakfast and dinner, both of them were VERY delicious. The host proactively took pictures of us eating meals and in front of the entrance. If you love seafood, I’m sure you will love this place as they provide very fresh fishes in generous portions. I didn’t want to have any fish the next day because I’ve had too many 😝 Another thing I loved about here is the private onsen. Particularly good for people have tattoos as they are forbidden from the public onsen. But please note that the facilities are a bit old BUT very clean. Ps. Also appreciated the host gave us a pair of tea cups when they knew we traveled for honeymoon ❤️ gorgeous

Great hospitality, gorgeous and serene location, and the food was spectacular. This ryokan is tucked away in Izu and has two hot baths open around the clock to enjoy. The dinner is a traditional Japanese dinner and is served in courses in your room, which was a fun experience. The staff put a lot of care into their work and the food and it shows. The breakfast the next morning was just as good, and a great way to start the day. I can’t recommend this place enough, I still find myself thinking about the hot baths even after arriving home!

We stayed here on our trip to the kawaii waterfalls and even before arriving the service was outstanding! They were very flexible and friendly in communication. The place itself is a very pretty building with a very nice scent and nice atmospheric music playing. The food was very good, though we only had the breakfast. The outside baths were definitely a highlight and what made the experience perfect. Thank you so much for having us stay!

Stayed 1 night in kokoronodoka because of the review. The location is near imaihamakaigan station, however a little suprised to know the street goes up to the mountain. I suggest don't bring big luggage when staying here. The ryokan has two types of room, but very small number of room available so booked fast. None of the staff know English, so install google translate in advance. The staff was kind. Be carefull for dinner, since in Kawazu the restaurant closed very early, have dinner in hotel. However booking in advance (by phone) is a must. Plus side was the onsen! 2 private onsen (each have indoor and outdoor onsen), perfect...
