This is the site where the Kawazu Castle used to be (before it got destroyed by a fire). This is located on top of a 180m high mountain called Shiroyama (城山). The hike up is about 30 mins from the station and requires moderate physical strength (if you're an active person then it's very easy for you). To locate the trailhead search (or just spot it on the maps near the Kuwazu station area) for "河津城址公園入口" or "Kawazu Castle Ruins Park Entrance". Go to that location in 5 mins from the station and then keep following the path. It is fairly simple. Once at the top, you'll get to see some cherry trees, a great view of the mountain ranges and valleys in the area and also a bit...

Really nice view of Kawazu and partial view to the ocean. Tables and benches for a picnic.

Note: Trailhead is not easy find. From Kawazu Station go north to the Avail Kawazu high rise. Follow the tsunami evacuation area signs to end of road. Trail continues on right side of clearing. Wear good walking or hiking shoes....
