Nice, clean hotel with a fantastic view!

Breakfast was very good: buffet with a wide array of Japanese, western, and Asian foods.

The club lounge was comfortable, but a bit small. Fortunately we arrived early, but it appeared that there were people waiting in a line to get in for quite some time. The food offered is a small course. It's tasty, but it's a really small amount and there are no second servings, so don't plan on turning it into a meal. They had Japanese canned beer, sake, umeshu, and some spirits. The wine was Chartron La Fleur, and calling it wine is being pretty generous.

The room was very nice. We were upgraded to a junior suite which had a beautiful bathroom with a shower stall and a separate bathtub. There was a large walk-in closet, and a small living room with a desk, sofa, and TV that led into a bedroom with a very comfortable king bed. My only complaint about the room was that the thermostat was set to a main unit so we couldn't control whether it was on the A/C or heater. Our stay was on an unseasonably warm day in February and the room was so hot I couldn't sleep until we had someone come upstairs and open the window for us.

My last comment is about my experience at checkout. There's a scam (in my opinion) I've noticed that has been going on the last few years. I don't know if it's the hotel or the company that runs the credit card readers that is responsible, but, there's something called DCC (dynamic currency conversion) that's, in my experience is rarely explained adequately. I've read about this so I know to look for it, but I'm sure many people don't pay attention. Basically they charge you a fee or percentage rate (it seems to be somewhere between 3-5% but I'm not certain) to change from the local currency to the currency of your foreign credit card. If your card has no foreign transaction fees, they're just adding to your bill. If this is offered to you in Japan, you (or the staff) have to press the red (decline) button if you do not want...

Kobe Sheraton Hotel can be used as the hotel for the first night in Osaka During this trip to Osaka, the first and ninth nights were booked at Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers Points redemption: 21K and 20K Transportation: Take Haruka from Kansai Airport to Osaka, then transfer to Sanyo local tram for 20 minutes to Sumiyoshi Station (Sumiyoshi), and then change to rail transportation for about 8 minutes to reach Island Center Station on Kobe Rokko Island. There is a walkway directly to the hotel at the station, and you can walk directly to the hotel lobby in about 2 minutes. Platinum treatment: free double breakfast for two, and the room was arranged on the executive floor. The hotel room is standard and especially suitable for our needs. The hotel has its own hot spring "Hama Izumi", which is open from 5:30AM to 10:30AM and 12:30PM to midnight. It is very friendly to passengers on international flights such as us. A hot spring bath can greatly reduce the fatigue of long-distance flights; The hotel's breakfast buffet has a lot of varieties. It feels like the ceiling among Sheraton's breakfasts. The dining environment is very comfortable; There is an executive lounge with happy hours, but it can't be used as dinner because it only provides a few snacks. However, the lounge has a good view and you can enjoy the "million-dollar" night view of Kobe; You can directly store your large luggage at the front desk and pick it up when you check in on the ninth day; In addition, there is "Uniqlo" at JR Sumiyoshi Station. Limusine runs every one hour to and from Kansai/Osaka int'l airport approx US$15.00. From Kobe central, JapanRail and NewTram runs frequently. I strongly recommend this hotel for those who need rests during the busy schedule. The hotel is situated in the man-made island 'Rokkoh'. It is isolated from the Kobe and two bridges connects these two areas, so the security in the island is remarkably high. There are, therefore, a lot of foreign organisations around the hotel. Calm and charm is my image of the island. In other words, erotic, active and exotic places if you are looking for, then consider choosing the other hotels. The staff of Sheraton Kobe are well trained and helpful. The breakfast staff girl noticed my coffee was cold, and brought me a fresh hot coffee with smile. Although the visit was in winter, the swimming bath was warm and comfortable. What's more, I booked the sea-side view room which has dull night view but cheap, but the receptionist offered me the city-side view room, due to the weekday vacancy. Of course I enjoyed the night view. Breakfast Buffet was plenty and marvellous. I couldn't have all of them (for example, there were more than 7kinds of juices.
