We stayed at Towada for our yearly onsen trip (two friends) and picked this hotel close to the lake. The weather wasn't great and it was off season but that made us the only guests at the hotel and the owner, a sweet lady, took very good care of us! The dinner and breakfast were not short of amazing (highlights are the rice and the clear local tap water) and on top of that you got the boarder between Akita and Aomori right behind the house, so one can visit two prefectures while staying here. We stayed here for the Lake Towada Winter Story. Large, very comfortable room with twin beds, shared gender-separated baths that can be converted to a family bath if there are not many visitors, and spotless toilets.
