滝の上温泉お宿花風月 — Hotel in Minamioguni

DO NOT STAY HERE! STAFF TRIED TO PRIVATELY FILM!

While my girlfriend and her mom were in the spa area and about to undress and change, my girlfriend caught a glimmer of a camera from an hidden iPhone! A staff member was SECRETLY FILMING THEM WHILE THEY WERE ABOUT TO CHANGE! The STAFF MEMBER WAS HIDING IN A CONNECTED ROOM and was filming through an opening between the wall and the ceiling. Immediately she confronted the staff member but he kept on lying saying he didn't have a phone. Eventually she was able to get the iPhone to check it. While checking the iPhone she saw a video of her and her mom. INCLUDING COUNTLESS VIDEOS OF OTHER CUSTOMERS NAKED on the iPhone! THE STAFF ACTED LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND WANTED TO COVER IT UP! They had to demand multiple times to talk to a manager and then had to demand again for the manager to call the owner and the police.

The police were eventually called but we do not know what will happen to the staff member (if anything). They asked to get an update, but have not heard from them.

Both my girlfriend and her mother are extremely shaken from this incident and fear that they still have the video if it was uploaded to iCloud.

To make it worse is how the owner, manager and the staff handled the situation in such a passive manner. It took 2 hours to get a call to the owner and 4 hours to just get the police there. While waiting for the police to come, other customers were checking out who were also filmed, however the staff did not notify them and acted like nothing...

I stayed there in Dec 2023. It was a great experience. Everything was perfect. I was totally impressed with the service, the view and the food. My room was spacious and the beds were great. The view from the private onsen in my room was stunning, right next to a river. All the staff was well trained. Every staff greeted us with a bow and a smile on their face when we encountered anywhere in the ryokan. The waitress explained all the dishes well. It was snowing on the 2nd day, and they helped us sweeping the snow on the car voluntarily. The food was stunning and more than enough. All the dishes were impressive. I would recommend it to anyone who seek to enjoy a quiet and relax night. However, I suggest to arrive the ryokan before sunset as the roads are small and with not many to none street lights, and we nearly got lost when...

Stayed at this adult only ryokan which is few minutes away from the onsen town of Kurokawa. The establishment only has six or seven individual house. It’s up in a hilly area and very quiet. Our family room is very spacious with tatami living area and western beds at the other side. We have two onsens in our room,one indoor and one outdoor. There are two public onsens as well, one facing a stream and one facing a waterfall. We enjoyed the facility very much. Both the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were |amazing. ||The lady who is from Taiwan,attended to us is very friendly and pleasant. We think she is an asset to the establishment.
