Staying here was an experience, from start to finish. The Lego theming begins before even entering, with the appearance of the building, and Lego models in front of the entrance. From a table by the window, I watched the chef (person in a costume) come from somewhere behind Legoland, and after the photo session they returned. Not only were they in the costume the entire time, but in character, waving and acting like a Lego character, until they finally were out of sight after entering a doorway quite far away. Read moreWe decided to stay at Legoland hotel as there was a concert next door at Messi Port Exhibition Centre which we bought tickets for. This made it convenient as we have kids and could entertain our kids at Legoland at the same time.
The hotel was clean, service was good and friendly, and the kids loved the lego themed rooms with bunkbeds and lego everywhere!
The only downside of this property and Legoland itself is its location. It’s located on the outskirts of Nagoya in the port area. The hotel and Legoland itself is completely surrounded by port and industrial buildings. This means that food options is limited to what the hotel and the Legoland related makers pier has to offer. The few restaurants at makers pier all shut early and are mostly closed by 7pm, leaving pretty much the only option for food being the hotel restaurant, which had its last order by 8:30pm. Hence late dinners are a no-go for this hotel. Am not sure what I would do if I arrived past 9pm at this hotel and have a hungry family to feed. There’s a convenience store 500m away at the train station, but it closes at 10pm on weekdays and apparently even earlier on weekends.
Advice for would be travellers, we took the train 2 stops from Legoland to Inae and there’s a few food options there.
Recommendation to hotel management:
Offer late night room service option if possible for guests who need to eat past 8:30pm
If late night room service isn’t possible due to manpower or budget, perhaps at least some food vending machines in the hotel would be much appreciated
It would be good if there was a 24 hour or late night convenience store nearby. Beyond the food, people might need sundries late night
That being said, we did enjoy our stay very much. Did not want to be overly critical but do think that if the hotel could address the late night food options, it would see even more success! Thank you...
