Our party of 10 people set a reservation one week in advance for restaurant inside the resort called Shuna restaurant. It is all you can eat for 3000 yen. Unfortunately you can only order two items at a time for each person. We all ordered 2 items each and waited, waited, waited, ..... for one hour until receiving some food but not all the food. All the waitress did not know who the food belonged to. The first order of food slowly came to the table. We placed our second order and the same type of very slow service was seen for second order. My wife is Japanese and she complained to the restaurant that we were hungry and service was very slow. Suddenly the food showed up immediately after the complaint. It seemed to all of us that the restaurant was holding the food to kill time so we could not order more food. The food is good but plates are very small, so you need to order many times. But you can not order many times since waitress is not available to order and you have to chase down the waitress to give your order. The food is really good but if you can not order your food items then you are there waiting. They should not call it All you can eat if they do not allow you to order and the restaurant does not deliver on timely fashion.
You are better off going to standard all you can eat buffet where you have control of your food.
I forgot to say that my wife ordered food for my children and herself. The food was delivered to another table. The customer at the other table was taking the food and eating it. The customer got finally upset and started screaming in Japanese that he was getting food that he did not order and service was horrific. My wife and children barely ate anything since they did not deliver most of the food to her table. My wife was so upset, even the next day.
If you go there for one hour you will get maybe a couple plates of food for 3000 yen which is very expensive. Go somewhere else with buffet that you can control and not the restaurant.
All ten of us will never go back to this restaurant. They just lost ten locals not tourist. We were planning to be regular repeat customers but the service was so horrific that we will never go back again.
Worst buffet and service on the planet earth.
It has gone under new management when we went here lately and they are trying to cut back on giving food. It use to be good before new management took over. We went there before the management changed and it...
Read moreThe staff is great. The hotel is outdated and needs updating. Not enough outlets, weird lighting, and switch locations. Some say the large balcony is is great, I’m not so sure since there are no chairs or tables to hangout on the balcony. And also depending on the room you get,(The XX08 rooms) your room can be viewed from everybody on the balcony in the other rooms. I didn’t see anybody on their balcony so this was not a problem for me this time around. If you choose not to have your room cleaned(put a sign on the door). You will still receive new towels and new water for your room, and a gift card to exchange for some snacks(pretzels, ice cream, candy) at the store downstairs.
The first night I was there it seemed like there were 1000 guests at the hotel. Breakfast was so busy, I left and came back later. The second night was little better as large groups checked out. But if you are looking for quiet and comfort, I’m. Not sure this is the hotel I want to stay at. Also you WILL need a car, or cab to go anywhere from the hotel. Breakfast is expensive, but average for a hotel breakfast and it wasn’t bad.
One awkward and annoying experience I had at this hotel was in the drive way. They have a large driveway, turn around area with 4 large pillars at the entrance. I came out of the parking lot to pick up my family. I guess I accidentally entered the area incorrectly.
There was two cars. One trying to leave the hotel and me who was stopped on far left side. There was at least two extra car width space for any cars to go around me, however the parking attend felt it was necessary to completely stop the traffic.
I opened the window and asked the parking attendant, if I was in the way? “I’m I’m not going anywhere, why can’t the other car just go around? I’m sorry if I entered the area the wrong way.” The attendant seemed frustrated, but I was so annoyed with his reasoning and inefficiency to deal with the situation(which there was NONE). I closed the window, turned my hazards lights on to show I wasn’t moving, and ignored him so that the other car can just leave.
I do not plan to rerun...
Read moreI was in Okinawa for business. I drove a rental car from Naha and didn't have too much issue finding it. The parking situation is strange, there are several satellite parking lots around the hotel, the biggest across a busy road, behind some homes. Luckily the hotel has an amazing shuttle service. You can park on your own and call the shuttle, or drive up to the front of the hotel and follow the shuttle there. The shuttle drivers and the folks out front are amazing friendly people. The front desk staff is equally awesome, English speakers are even available. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the spacious room, after staying in tiny rooms on the mainland. However they are in a desperate need of renovation. The carpet is very old and worn, and the decor is out dated, but it was clean. The main restaurant Dress Diner is the typical hotel buffet, except this one is very good. I loved the Okinawan Soba and the general variety. Breakfast is also great. Perfect for when the weather is poor or when you're too tired to go out and enjoy the amazing restaurants Okinawa has to offer. There is also a small Convinence store on the lobby floor. It's no FamilyMart, but really handy for grabbing a drink or late night snacks. I did get a massage from the Spa, and I will say it was one of the best I've had. Perfect for the weary road warrior and vacationers alike. Finally a shout out to Cameron... I left a valuable item behind in my room, via email he arranged it to be mailed back to me in the US. Thanks!! Simply put, yes the rooms are a bit out dated. But the amazing service with a smile made this one of the finest hotels I...
