A&W Awase Store — Restaurant in Okinawa

Friendly staff. That’s all that was good about this place. How is A&W staying in business here? It’s not worth the money- I wouldn’t even eat here even if the food was free. It’s another place where people go because it’s an American brand, but that’s literally all there is. You’ll leave the place feeling disappointed and unfulfilled.

Ordered bigger cheeseburger, chili cheese curly fries, and chubby chicken. Small portion for the price with a bland taste. Chili cheese fries weren’t so bland but it’s not something to go crazy about, and it was less than half the amount you get from the picture that’s on the menu.

The burger is SO underwhelming. The bun is too dry inside, with a tasteless and thin patty. The patty doesn’t even look or taste like it has any beef- it was pale light tan and tasted so bland that I wondered if it’s a soy patty. They put ketchup, mustard and Mayo in the burger- overall, the burger tasted like I’m eating a lettuce and tomato (and very dry) bread with these condiments.

The chubby chicken was small and barely had any flavor in the breading and the meat itself.

It’s not just this branch, A&W on this island is a huge...

Building is old and outdated. Menu stays true to the classic options with burgers and dogs, but they are Japanese style hot dogs (more of a small sausage). Refills on drinks are charged except for root beer which offers free refills. The food is frozen and microwaved, so the buns are often 'mooshy'

Bentos are also available...

Well, the root beer is good, but I didn't really like the food very much. I tried the hot dogs and they were very small with a big bun, so the A&W hot dog flavor wasn't there. If I go back I want to try the chicken though because the pictures looks...
