I recently had the pleasure of staying at Onomichi Hansei in March with my family, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. This hotel is very new and offers a unique concept of a revived stay, coupled with top-notch Kaiseki-style cuisines featuring freshly caught local seafood from the Seto Inland Sea. With its roots tracing back to a restaurant founded in the late 18th century, it has an impressive history of serving the finest cuisine.

The dining experience at Onomichi Hansei was the highlight of my 23-night trip in Japan this time. The Kaiseki-style meals were exceptional, prepared with meticulous attention to detail. The use of rare and unique fish, even unfamiliar to the locals from outside of the area, added an element of surprise and delight to every dish. I spent a night here with my gf and it was a marvelous experience. They offer a luxurious dinner and breakfast experience that uses locally caught seafood and ingredients that will made your stay very pleasant. Located in a quiet area away from the city's hustle and bustle but still within walking distance from the local station and seaport. The staff were very hospitable and very thoughtful.|The room offered a traditional Japanese bathroom with a tub made from cypress that gives a pleasant aroma when bathing. I stayed two nights here for cycling the Shimanami Kaido in November. This was the best accommodation I've ever stayed in, anywhere in the world! It really shows that it was renovated not too long ago: the rooms are modern, beautiful, and of course spotless clean. I was impressed by the Toto Raku-yu bath, which has a water jet massage function; it was perfect for recovering after a long day of cycling.
