In two months of traveling through Japan, we tried dozens of restaurants… but this one, in Onomichi, was by far the best of all. As an Italian that worked almost a decades in Restaurant we felt amazed by this place. We stumbled upon it almost by chance, drawn in by its warm and inviting interior, and ended up coming back two nights in a row, unable to resist the charm of its food and the kindness of the people inside.
Mamiko and Yuki are the heart and soul of this place: kind, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. The cuisine is a true masterpiece of balance and passion: every ingredient is cooked to perfection and seasoned with a unique touch, the work of a great chef who can turn simplicity into pure emotion.
Every dish is an unforgettable memory: the fragrant and flavorful fried rice, the incredibly tender beef tataki, the seasonal vegetables that tell the story of the land, the spicy miso offal that surprises from the very first bite, and the comforting potato salad.
A special thanks also to Mamoru, a regular customer, whose company made our evening even more special.
This place is not just a restaurant: it is a corner of warmth and beauty that we will carry in our hearts...

The mixed grill was cooked well. The offals were fresh and were free of gamey or metallic notes. The garlic rice that we had was also fragrant, carrying a slight sweet taste that prevented our rich meal from being too cloying. Round off our meal was a tender cut of wagyu steak with soy sauce, wasabi, and other condiments. The steak was juicy and flavourful, and extremely tender.
An english menu is available, and the staff was friendly and patient with us. We can't wait...
