Guesthouse Sumiyoshi — Hotel in Osaka

When we arrived there was no staff anywhere, just a sign to text the owner. After five minutes a staff member appeared and checked us in but that would turn out to be our only interaction with any staff for the two nights we were there. Luggage storage is not a locker system or anything, you just leave your bag in the corner of the lobby unattended hoping that no one will enter the lobby through the unlocked door and jack your luggage. The common room feels off because it's just too big. There is just so much space dedicated to so few people that the whole place just has an off feel and there is no staff to greet you anywhere.||Also we didn't really use our room before we came back to the guesthouse late at night but when we did go to our assigned beds we found someone else sleeping in them. We took the empty bunks next to them instead and decided to alert the staff in the morning so no one would get assigned to the beds we just slept in, but we couldn't because there was no staff at reception (at 10AM?)||It all felt really odd and creepy to us but that being said the rooms were clean and toilet paper was stocked, the kitchen was standard for any hostel and we slept...

😊: The bathroom facilities were amazing with plenty of showers and toilets meaning we never had to wait. There was a lovely large mirror behind the sinks which was great. Our bunk room was spacious and included a table, two armchairs and a life saving air conditioner! Everything was well maintained and fresh.. 😢: We never met the staff the 3 nights we stayed as we paid online and arrived late. There are staff working in the cafe on the first level but they didn’t seem to be part of the guesthouse side of things. It’s not necessarily good or bad, just...

Very good guest house!!

Everything was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. All the equipment seem quite new. The location is really good and moreover there were three bicycles available for free.

PS : For me, I could find only two little things to complain about: the wifi, because it was a bit low some times, and the lack of good tables to study or work. Also, I think the tables' settings are too tight because the armchairs are too big. It looks fancy but not really practical. Just one basic table with normal chairs instead of a fancy one...
