After reading these reviews I wonder if the travelers were staying at the same hotel that I did.... ||||To start, this review is completely subjective, my preferences may not be the same as yours, so understand that when considering booking this hotel. ||||PROS: ||||- Polite english speaking staff ||- Decent size hotel room considering standard Japanese size hotel rooms ||- Nice bathroom, clean and new. ||||CONS: ||||- Paper thin walls, bring your ear plugs if you want to get some rest. You can seriously here everything in this hotel, if you stay here, request the top floor! You could here people running up and down the floor above you. ||||- Uncomfortable bedding, I've stayed in many Japanese, this bed was the worst I've had. There is a difference between a hard/soft and FIRM bed. This bed felt like a springboard with a tiny piece of cloth protecting you from the prodding springs. I would have rather slept on the floor. ||||- Not the cleanest room I've ever seen, they really need to vacuum better, maybe even under the bed. ||||||NEUTRAL: ||||- Location ||||- Price ||||- Feels like a share-house/hostel. ||||||This may be a positive or negative depending on your likes. - Eclectic hotel with unique style Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel because of the extremely noisy atmosphere. However, my top priority when booking a room is peace and quiet. If you're looking for a hotel with a unique style and are a heavy sleeper, this may be the...

Read morePros Amazing vibes- the interior design, music, staff all contribute to a positive, chill, and relaxing feeling They really try to promote intermingling with others who are staying at the hotel in common spaces while keeping the privacy of having a separate room (benefits of a hostel + more privacy). During our stay, they offered free juice and small snacks, along with a super cheap "all you can drink" period of time to incentive meeting others in the lobby
Cons Location isn't bad but I definitely found anywhere we wanted to go was about 30-40 mins away by train and walking. It's not bad but it's not a super central location to touristy things Maybe I would've noticed something more if I stayed longer than one night, but I didn't find any issues during my stay
FYI They make record players the centerpiece experience by having one in every room. Personally I'm not a big record person but it was super nice and speaks to their dedication to provide an interesting and new experience to those who stay. Rooms seem a standard size in Japan- it felt like a perfect size for me and my boyfriend even though we're used to western size rooms usually. Front desk service is not available after a certain time at night, and they lock the front door. They supply you a code to get in if you do stay out past midnight-ish.
Overall, highly recommend it! I wished we could've stayed longer to soak...
