Avoid this hostel at all costs – do yourself a favor and book something else. I stayed three nights here and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. Honestly, I don’t understand how this place has ratings of 3.9 on Google or over 8.0 on Booking – it deserves 1 star at most. • Location: not great. It’s far from central Osaka. You have to walk 10–15 minutes to the nearest subway and then ride 5–6 stations to reach downtown. • Host: Extremely rude and unprofessional. On arrival when I wanted to leave my luggage in advance before check in (what I texted him through booking), he opened the door just to tell me I had to pay extra in a super rude way. And didn’t even allow me to enter. During check-in he handed me a two-page list of strict rules in a military-style manner. He constantly entered the dorm without knocking, including once when I was lying in bed shirtless and another time when I was using the toilet (he knocked and opened the door instantly, without waiting). When I confronted him about this, he refused to apologize and blamed me. In the end he said he is going to report me on booking. Ironically, his own rules say you must knock and wait before entering. Look at the google reviews. If someone complains he just denies everything and says people are wrong. • Facilities: The dorm beds were terrible – completely worn out with huge dips in the middle, basically sleeping on wood. Curtains were dusty, and in one bed the curtain was so thin it was almost see-through. The showers were moldy and dirty. The whole place felt unhygienic and uncomfortable. • Atmosphere: The host constantly checked on guests, walking into rooms at night to see if people “broke rules” like leaving lights on. This made the stay feel intrusive and stressful, not relaxing at all. Also, the whole “tomato” theme with decorations everywhere just added to the weird, uncomfortable vibe.

As the host commented on my review. I was shirtless one time and after I apologized I didn’t do that again. He knocked on the toilet and I was answering but he just didn’t wait. He knocked the door and immediately opened the door without waiting and I was sitting on the toilet. Also I was talking outside in a quiet manner and at exactly 22:59 he came outside to tell me I should go inside. He checked on me several times before that, like he only waited for the moment he can force me inside. Everything in a really impolite manner. Btw when I was asking if he could turn the AC cooler he refused to do so. I told him that it’s too hot for me and that I would sweat and that it’s unhygienic for the next guests. He said it’s okay. He was cold (that was his reason to not turn it lower, he doesn’t even sleep in that room). That the water dispenser is only available for times when you wouldn’t use it is also a sign that he doesn’t care about his guests convenience. The laundry bag that was available was also dirty and my white shirt has now dirt in it which I don’t get out anymore.

This was the worst hostel experiences I’ve ever had. Cheap price or not, it’s absolutely not worth it. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else – you’ll save yourself a lot of frustration...

I travelled for few months now and that’s the first time that I felt uncomfortable with a host From the moment I arrived he talked to me with condescension. I was just arrived that he yell at me to not park my bike in front of the door (of course I will not park my bike in front of the door, just give me 1 min to unload the bike and then move it to another place), without saying hello or anything

And then the best part… The day of check out I asked him if it was possible to let the luggage, no problem you can let it in the entrance !

I came back at 2pm to pick up my luggage and I took a seat on the stairs in the entrance 4minutes (not even 5min, and let me be clear not in the lobby or the room but in the entrance where my luggage were) to check my itinerary with the WiFi before moving with the bike He immediately arrive and asked me to leave the place for the “respect of the rules and safety of the guests” I say “ok don’t worry I’ll leave in 2 min I have to go” even if I still don’t understand about the safety, apparently your a national threat 3 hours after check out 😂 Anyway, he came back 20 seconds after and yell at me “I DONT WANT TO REPEAT MYSELF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE NOW !!!”

It was too much for me the way he talked to me so I asked him why he was so rude all the time, it might have a reason ! He didn’t answer, he played like he didn’t understand English :”sorry what?”

I answered not to play the fool, I knew that he perfectly understood what I just said and then by magic he was able to speak English again and respond that “I’m not rude this is a 5 stars review place” I still don’t understand that answer ! Because you have good reviews mean that you can’t never be rude ?? It show a lot about the disconnection of this man with human interaction… Then he slammed the door on me when I was moving my luggage’s outside and I had to ring the bell to be able to collect my glasses, thanks god it was my glasses so he wasn’t able to throw them in my face !

Reading the reviews I noticed that a lot of people mention the rudeness of this man so I felt better, it’s not only me having this feeling ! In more than 6 weeks in Japan I never have such an experience!

I feel actually bad for this guy because it seems obvious that he just doesn’t like human contact (and that’s totally ok!) but when you run a guesthouse it’s really a problem… Hope that he will think about his behaviour in the future reading this because no one deserves to be...

Avoid at all cost! For your sake, stay away from this place. I have never, ever in my life, have seen a dirtier, more unsafe, smellier, dodgier and outdated hostel. And I have traveled to some places.. The location is awful to say the least. You are far away from everything except businesses I will not name here so as not to get my review removed and an insignificant and dodgy small train station. You must pass under a bridge and will end up in an old, smelly building, caught between highways and rail tracks. No shops around, no nothing. Only very creepy men for services. The place smells very bad, it is awfully dirty, there are insane rules to obey like lights off hour and closed doors hour etc. The host is unbelievably rude and patronising, will yell at you, will speak over you, will treat you like you are nothing. The bed has a mattress which must be 6 decades old, you are basically sleeping on the wood frame. The curtains and bedsheets are never washed, you must make your own bed. And also undo it for them when you check out. So there is no cleaning from their side in between guests. There are so many awful things about this place. And absolutely nothing good. I have never been in a place like this before. And I hope I will never be again. This hostel should not exist. I do not understand why is it allowed to function. I am certain the reviews are fake. I know for sure that the pictures are fake. 1 star is even way too much for this horror place. Beware, there are even bedbugs! It is a rundown house made into a hostel. The host will also sleep there and he shuts everything for himself after 11 pm. Stay away, it is not worth saving a few bucks to go through this. I would not come back even if they...

I stay there for 4 nights, and everything is great. The location is a few minutes walking from the station, they also provide you with the map of convenience store, restaurant, laundry,... I stayed in female dorm, so there was cotton bud, nail clip, hair dryer, scissors, hair band,...everthing need for a girl. I especially like the concept of tomato here. It also has the kitchen to cook and the refrigerator. The owner here is amazing. He is friendly, guided me carefully with clear English for my first day. Whenever he saw me in the common room, he greeted me friendly. On my check out day, he took the picture for me in the tomato room and gave me a lot of gifts, farewell me. I am so touched by his dedication and hospitality. The hostel also has a balcony that have a great view of city. Ah, my dorm also had some manga to read (I really enjoy that manga and had learn some Kansai language from that), and four cute cushion staffs.

Unfortunately, I was not fully satisfied with my stay at this hostel. While the location was convenient, close to a metro station, the staff was overly strict and inflexible. I wasn’t allowed to store my luggage past 7:00 p.m., even though I was willing to pay extra. I also politely asked to use the bathroom briefly after check-out just to freshen up, but my request was refused—even when I offered to leave a little extra or pay. This was honestly one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve had, not just in Japan but overall.
