Hotel Consort — Hotel in Osaka

We spent 4 nights here, the location Is decent enough but that was the only positive.||||Hotel Consort Is grubby and beyond need of a refurbishment. The room smelt and was visually very unpleasant. There were cracks and peeling on the wall paper corners and seams, the carpet was stained and the table/dresser was gross. I would estimate that this unit was fitted In the 80's and has not been updated since. ||||It gets worse. I was sat on the bed having drink one night when I dropped something on the floor, I got down to pick It up and even though It was dark I could see that underneath the bed was dirty.||The next morning I lifted the bed and could not believe the despicable filth that I saw. I've attached a photo that shows this has not been cleaned for a very long time. Lots of random rubbish and thick dust.||||Its bad enought that the room decor was so neglected but there Is absolutely no excuse for such a lack of cleaning facilities. This demonstrates a total disregard for paying customers.||I will never use this hotel again.||||This room was booked through Agoda. They claim you can cancel at the time of booking but once they have your money there Is no option to cancel. Do a quick online search for the abundance of bad feedback....

Our family of 4 (hubby and I plus 2 teens) stayed in 2 adjacent twin rooms in Dec 2017 for 5D4N. The building and rooms are old BUT always clean and everything is in good working condition. Rooms are cleaned daily and toiletries/supplies are replenished daily. Best of all, the front desk staff are all very helpful, any time of day. They charge extra for early check in/late check out so we availed the free luggage storage instead.||||They provided us a vicinity map, and list of some tourist attractions and how to reach them.||||The building is next to the Nishinakajima-Minimigata station on the Midosuji Subway line (M14) and the Minamikata station on the Hankyu Railway line. The Midosuji line connects to other transport stations which could take you the airport, kyoto, Kobe ..Tokyo... etc.||||The hotel had a restaurant in the 2nd floor but we never tried it because there were so may dining options in the area all within walking distance. They all served delicius food but our favorite was the Takoyaki at the Takoyaki bar just after the railway. ||||We will definitely stay here again next time...
