Let's start by saying I challenge you to find a better hotel. When you consider cleanliness, attentiveness and friendliness of staff, and onsite accomadations. Is it the perfect hotel for everyone? Probably not, unless you are a motorsports fan. But even if you're not a fan of racing, there is still more for you to do here. Here are some of the accommodations we used. Gym, racing simulator, onsen, dining establishments, motorsports museum, hotel transportation. We also intended to take part in a hike, but the weather didn't permit.
What about the room? Well, it's fantastic. Open, airy, and it comes with a walk out balcony that sits right over the Panasonic Corner of Fuji Speedway. It's cozy and elegant. Wrap around glass walls if you are lucky enough to get a corner room. Warm lighting. Large bathroom and closet. It's comfortable, and you probably won't want to leave.
The spa area is great. Use the gym, get a massage if you like, or use the onsen set up as a Japanese bath. Yes, that means naked, but you are segregated by male and female sides. If that's not your thing, you can always use the hot tub in the swimming pool area. It looked delightful. However, we opted for the onsen experience. The wife proclaimed it has healing powers, feeling rejuvenating and relaxed.
We visited when it wasn't a race or a weekend. So it was much quieter than I could imagine it to be on race day. But it worked out great as we've been traversing the country in busy crowds for the last couple of weeks, so it was great to slow down and enjoy the presence of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding hillside, as well as take in the views from the privacy of our room. We even had the opportunity to watch Team Rookie Racing working on their laps times and spending time on the track for a good portion of the day.
The museum is phenomenal. It's elegant, well curated, and worthy of high praise. Especially if you like Japanese motorsports. There are two floors or vehicles that you've probably only seen on magazine covers, television, or legendary racing games. Here, you gain deeper knowledge of racing and its place in Japanese history. Toyota, Mazda, Yamaha,Mitsubishi, Honda, and many more examples of the quest for excellence in the sports of racing as well as quality and performance in the automobile industry. The cars here are more than machines, they are art and the museum does them justice in they present them. Meticulously cleaned and preserved, yet you have the ability to observe them as close as a car in your own garage. Just don't touch.
It was a wonderful stay, and we are grateful to the staff for all their efforts to make our visit memorial...
Read moreDirectly located at the Fuji Speedway track, easy to find and sufficient parking space in their underground area. Arrived by motorcycle at the front , staff had trouble finding my reservation but it worked & they took care of my luggage. Nice parking space underground but a double on the elevator, no direct line to the rooms.
Checking, hm, English not available from the staff at hand, no name tags and no one introduced themself. Membership not mentioned neither. Their Guest relations manager was standing in a corner, no greetings ( & poor language skills as it turned out later when I had a chat, no follow up on trouble through him neither 🤔)
Bell boy worked smooth, offered assistance in case of questions regarding the room.
Room, long lobby/ entrance area ( unfortunately no divider/ door to main room, so noise from hallway), toilet beside the entrance, wardrobe room ( but no fan / Aircon, I sweated profoundly from my 800 k trip and the smell stayed in that room the whole time, no air freshener available), ended up hanging my riders clothes on the veranda ( house keeping was clever & put a cloth rack there for me later the next day !) Roomy bath, nice long tub, cool amenities, good towels. Nice view from the terrace and very comfy furniture, had a nice nap there. Soso quite, in the evening, that’s what they have ear plug amenities for 🙄 Bed ok but quite small, loved their pillows though. Some gadgets reminded you about the racing roots but nothing weird.
Don’t expect Netflix or your personalized tv option.
No robe / onsen wear in my size in the room. They checked me in( visibly a large person ), I expected that at this level of hospitality they would anticipate that problem and react but nothing. Calling their guest service was a disaster, so disappointed directly at the first day. They finally managed a robe, barely sized & a nice fitting yukata, the attendant was very friendly and helpful. The same counts for “ gym “ wear, size stops at Japanese XL which is barely L for non asians. Really ?
Their onsen is fine, two baths, small sauna & a tiny cool basin, neither wide nor deep or cold enough 16 - 17*C (?).
Gym is nicely equipped but their drive simulator is located in there too, quite distracting because of the noise.
Didn’t used the pool.
Food wise ok, liked their breakfast, not cheap but Chef Ishii & his team offer a nice spread. Service was attentive too.
Had room service, both times fine, friendly service, unfortunately I forgot the young man’s name ( Restaurant manager ), very attentive as was Miss Asami.
In total fine but I must confess i...
Read moreWe purchased the “summer getaway package” and we had one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had so far. It includes free buffet breakfast and free lunch set. We were also able to to go to the museum for free. We also tried the driving simulator for free. We also received free gas voucher.
This hotel opened last year. So the hotel looks clean and modern. Our room has a nice view of Mount Fuji. Our room has a balcony so we could have a drink there while admiring the beautiful view.
I especially liked their smart tv. I could easily stream content there using chromecast. It was also nice we could see the dinner menu from their smart tv. Their room service is one of the best we’ve had. Everything we ordered was delicious. They were on the expensive side but the food quality was really good, except maybe for the ice cream, because it was already melting when it arrived.
There were not so many choices for the buffet breakfast but all of them were good. We also enjoyed our lunch at the Trofeo restaurant.
I also liked the fact that they are using sustainable materials. For instance, the card key and the toothbrushes were made from bamboo.
If you’re the type of person who likes to escape the busy city life, this is the hotel for you. This hotel is far from malls or shops. The gotemba premium outlet is a 20-minute drive from here.
If you are a car enthusiast, you’d also love this hotel. It is adorned with stuff inspired by motorsport. From the posters, artwork, pastries and souvenir items, you can be sure that car lovers will appreciate this hotel. As a matter of fact, the east side of the hotel provides a good view of the Fuji speedway racetrack. So these rooms are the ones to book when there is a racing event.
The only things I did not like about this hotel are the beds and the aircon. The beds are a little hard to my liking. The aircon is a little weak. I woke up in the middle of the night because I was perspiring. I had to bring the aircon’s temp setting to 21 degrees before I was able to sleep again.
The pool was clean but it’s a bit small. So please call the front desk before going there. They won’t let you in if the pool is crowded.
But overall, this was an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend this to...
