The good: Free coffee and free midnight noodles were cool features, as was the proximity to Family Mart and the Shopping Tunnel where all the action was happening. Room was basic but comfortable. Good shampoo was available (Pola brand). Good selection of toiletries in room. Their parking structure is well marked once you are on the right side street, otherwise one cannot see it from main thoroughfare.||The bad: Communal bath was men's only ?!? what about he women's sento/onsen? Parking Fee was not explained at time of charging card, as I was presented with a bill that was quite a bit higher than confirmation email charge. The bill needed a better explanation from staff. I requested parking in advance of stay and requested to know what the fee would be but never received a response, yet they already had me on their list of guests with cars. I feel like if hotel knows that if someone is arriving by car, that they need to give better directions to their parking lot, since we had to go to the wrong Dormy down the street to get this instruction. There are 3 other Dormy Inns in Sendai and access to this one was complicated by busy thoroughfares with very aggressive drivers and one...

Budget travelers might be attracted by the cheap breakfast option, location, public bath on the second floor (apparently only for men) and spacious rooms; the nice and helpful staff and good bathroom (i.e. shower) water pressure can't make up for the lack in cleanliness, old furniture and general "this place might have been something 30 years ago" atmosphere.
This place looks like it was a big investment in the 70s, but nothing changed since: old furniture, the plastic unit bath I hate so much and the worst part is the cleanliness issue.
As you can see from the picture, there are stains (most likely mold) on the shower curtain. Also, the bathroom lacks an electrical outlet.
I would say this place is way too expensive for...
