Terrible terrible terrible experience.
The smell of damp mould in the room was not very pleasant. It is normal in some old hotels.
But it was the FIRST time that there was a FLY in the bathroom of hotel in Japan.
A whited-haired staff gave me pesticide and told me to handle the fly MYSELF, with a “sorry” in which I couldn’t get any feeling of sorry.
I tried to kill the fly, but it didn’t work. The fly was so energetic, and too much toxic spray filled the small bathroom. I got a bit of angry. So I went to the front and asked for help.
THE white-haired STAFF refused to give any reaction. ANOTHER GIRL, who said she was not a staff of the hotel, was doing some apparently business thing with that staff. They chatted together and laughed at me that I were afraid of a little fly. They talked in Japanese and thought I couldn’t understand, but I could. Then the GIRL looked at my face directly and LAUGHED AT ME. That old staff kept silent at it.
The whole thing was ASTONISHING and UNBELIEVABLE. It should NOT happen in any hotel of any place in the world. It seemed that the staff, at least that old staff, think a fly in the guest room totally normal and a protest absolutely not normal.
Luckily, another staff gave help and killed the fly at last. I felt thankful although he swatted the fly dead directly in the bathtub and apparently didn’t think any further sanitary necessary. At least he was polite and ready for his duties as a staff of hotel. (The second star just for him.)
By the way, there was a corpse of mosquitoes in bed when I went to sleep. But it was nothing in contrast to the whole experience of...
Read moreDuring my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality.A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience. While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly.Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to...
Read moreOverall, I highly recommend this hotel. The room was spacious, which was a pleasant surprise compared to other hotels I've stayed at in popular Japanese cities. The complimentary parking was convenient, with options both outside the hotel and in a nearby multi-floor facility. Simply obtain a ticket and insert it into the machine at the front desk to have the charges waived.Additionally, its location just a 10-minute drive away from 粟林公園 was convenient for...
