Sokodo-so — Hotel in Tokyo

Being back after 10 years, it was wonderful to see that Minshuku Sokodo-so is still the same warm and welcoming family-run gem I remember.

The food was, once again, a highlight of our stay. The breakfast and especially the dinner were absolutely excellent, with every dish made from fresh, local ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the family explain each of the regional specialties—it made the meals even more special.

Our tatami room was beautiful and comfortable, and we loved the stunning garden. The location is perfect, just a stone's throw from the beach.

The family's communication was incredibly heartfelt, and we really appreciated being able to rent their e-bikes to explore the island also above the water.

Great cozy inn with amazing breakfast and dinner! This place made one of my best trips in my life to Hachijo even more memorable and fun. The room was very clean, spacious and cosy, also loved the bath and their heart-warming services, but the most amazing part was the breakfast and dinner I had everyday during the stay. Fresh local seafood (sashimi / grilled / simmered) and Ashitaba (local fresh vegetable) soba noodle that they make can't get anywhere else but here. You can rent bikes, scooters and a car at a reasonable price here but the local snorkeling place is just less than a minute walk away from this place. I see sea turtles literally every time I go snorkeling there. Would stay here whenever I come back to...

Hachijo island is the nearest island that you can feel tropical environment, beautiful coral beach with colorful fishes, beautiful mountain like Fuji and nice smiles. You can enjoy snorkeling, fishing, climbing, cycling and so on.|Sokodo-so is a traditional Japanese style hotel by the beautiful Sokodo beach and Sokodo harbor. English is available. The staff speaks English fluently, so you can get many informations about tourism, especially how to enjoy Japanese style fishing at the Sokodo harbor. It’s lots of fan!...
