Was bracing myself after reading all the reviews here, and it turned out to be better than good. The service is professional, informative and orderly. Arrived a bit early and cooled off in the small lobby where they had a coffee machine to make hot or iced drinks. Small amenities station next to the elevator. ||After check-in, I opened the door to reveal a cute and cozy place that was bright. When you enter, there is a washing machine, large kitchen sink, small cupboard with two sets of dishes, induction stove, microwave, mini-fridge and electric kettle. Didn't use any of the major appliances. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable, with a comforter, top sheet and 4 assorted pillows. The receptionist explained that there is limited cleaning and you navigate this using the magnetic hotel door signs. If you do have a longer stay, room cleaning has a small fee as listed on the faded hotel folders. ||Liked that there were a ton of electrical outlets in logical places. There is a small wood table to set up your laptop or have some simple meals, a corner couch and a stool opposite. Wifi was stable and lighting was bright. ||Judging from the bathroom, this was probably built in the 70s and yeah, you can look for mold and other imperfections like carpet stains, but it's forgivable, because the room was very clean otherwise. The balcony was small enough to just stand and you can see the city lights from the 6th floor. Did hear a kid throwing a mid-day tantrum and it echoed down the hall.||Stayed for two nights and would consider staying here again because of the local neighborhood and walkable areas with a good amount of modern shops and restaurants. It's peaceful. You could also walk along the train line toward Naka-Meguro station, another great local neighborhood. Lobby doors are accessed with your key card. Yutenji Temple has picnic tables, a children's playground and is about a 10 -minute walk. The subway is about a 3-minute walk and easy to transfer to the Narita Express when you depart. ||If it's your first time to Japan, this might feel far from the Shibuya Scramble action. However, it seemed to be good value for the...
Read moreI just checked in to your Tokyu Stay Meguro/Yutenji hotel for a 14 night stay. The front desk clerk tried to scam my mother and me by overcharging us 179,000 yen. The total price for 14 nights was 200,000 yen and he ran both of our credit cards for 379,000 yen. I had booked separate rooms for us since your rooms are small. When I added up the totals from the reservation emails, I confronted him and he looked surprised. I feel very uncomfortable staying there for two weeks now, as this has never happened to me ever. I'm worried about our safety and if he will attempt to steal from us while we are staying there. I've traveled worldwide and never has the front desk attempted to steal money from me by overcharging me for a reservation and then feigning ignorance. Although he did correct the charges, I'm concerned he has done this to others who haven't paid attention. He seemed like a credible employee and nice, until his scam attempt. This occurred on May 19, 2024. I am hoping someone will reach out to me to explain this strange incident. Also, we are on the 5th floor and it reeks of smoke, and we booked non-smoking rooms. All in all, I have a very bad feeling about this hotel. I feel very uncomfortable now. I tried to submit this officially through the Tokyu stay contact form and it kept giving...
