MONDAY IS TATTOO OKAY DAY IN THE ONSEN!

The swimming pool seems to have no 'okay' days though so bring swimwear that covers your whole body if you want to enjoy the infinity pool with other guests. It isn't a very big swimming pool and due to its short opening hours, was always full of loud children so we did not swim.

The resort is a bit older than other hotels and places to stay around Naha, but still very good and clean! Some small things like torn carpet in the hallway or the scratches on all the floors/tables show the age of the place. The photos online must have been taken a while ago. I think that due to the sea air, all buildings in Okinawa look a bit worn on the outside, so it's not a bad thing. Happy to note that the TV was modern enough to stream Netflix! (we've found that this is not the norm across old hotels in mainland Japan).

I really liked the free amenities here. The items that stood out were the cute soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles that say the name of the hotel in a cute design and I was happy to find good sized hair ties in two colours (navy blue and brown).

We received the BEST staff and customer service during our stay. Whenever I needed anything (car parking, extra sheets, taxi booking) there was no wait, staff jumped into action and took care of it promptly. Thank you all very much for making our stay easy and comfortable!

There's no convenience store on the island, however, about a 10 minute drive away is a road junction with Family Mart and 7&i (7-11) opposite each other. Okinawa doesn't have any trains to speak of, only buses for the most part. So driving is highly recommended if you stay here.

Open air bathing on the balcony right before a big thunderstorm was absolutely a peak trip moment. The lightning flashing brightly, the cool breeze scented with rain juxtaposed with the sulphur smell of the hot spring water as we relaxed in the bath~ so perfect. We got this type of room because of the tattoo rules in the onsen and it was the best idea ever. Highly recommended!

Regrettably, we didn't end up eating in the hotel restaurant at all since discovering all the tasty things down at Umikaji Terrace. Shoutout to Motomu's Curry Bread, we got it like 3 times, twice with cheese. It is mild enough for kids/people who don't handle spicy food to enjoy so please try it even if you don't usually eat curry!! 🍛🍞 Umikaji Terrace in general is great, you can eat somewhere different each day, try Blue Seal icecream or other Okinawan specialty foods and also buy lots of souvenir items.

Be prepared to suffer heat stroke if you come here anywhere near summer. No seriously. Bring a fan, umbrella, sunscreen and whatever else you can to stay cool, it's...

It's very humid inside of the hotel where there is actual condensation. Not sure if the air conditioning wasn't working or they chose not to turn it on? I could feel a drastic change in humidity once stepping out of my room.

Beds are separated But we ended up just pushing it together so we had one big bed

Breakfast presentation was great. That was the highlight for me. I had wanted to do dinner, but was unable to due to my partner's schedule.

The hotel was good at responding within 24 hours to an email.

When we got there the air conditioner was not on so the our room ended up being super humid and hot. It took a long time for our room to cool down as the air conditioner is not a very fast acting big one. So I do recommend you make sure yours is on before you leave the room.

I had also accidentally put some things on top of the remote so I couldn't find it and didn't realize it was a remote instead of something on the wall. So don't look for a thermostat, look for the air conditioner remote.

We got the room with the onsen which also included a foot bath on send. We did not use the foot bath as we couldn't figure out how to transfer the water from the big tub to the foot bath. We were asking just as we were checking out how we were supposed to transfer it, and they told us when you asked they will give you something to use. So definitely ask.

One of the negatives was there is no food after a certain time. Pretty much after 9. :00 p.m. there's nothing to eat in the area. There is a fridge so you can prepare and have things ready for yourself, but you can't just go out and grab something quick. It was a problem for us since my partner didn't get in until late. So just prepare your room if you got hungry later night snackers.

Wish we had gotten the higher room. Regret not getting the club floor room now. It didn't sound like there was any other benefit but the added amenities (higher end facial products), but it neglected to mention the 3rd floor rooms are on the ground floor when looking out. So you are looking out onto grass before you are the ocean.

Not all the staff speak English very well. I made the mistake of walking down there without my phone, so no Google translate. Would not recommend. Definitely bring your translator with you just in case. There are some that can speak English, put the one person on night staff that was Manning. The desk was not able to help me.

Noticed they had an infinity pool but it was closed. Was not informed about it at check in. So was unable to use it. Also the photos from that spot weren't as nice since it...

Great hotel! I wasn’t sure what to expect as it is in middle of the 2 airport runway but if you like to see plane and onsen it was perfect. Not noisy plaine start at 6:45-7 mainly military.

We had 3 night club floor 533. Club is highest floor i pay additional to have better room at the desk. We had sea view rotenburo and we see a lot of plane arrival landing 🛬 Room was amazing. As well many military plane ✈️ take off and landing . If you are lucky you can have great air show just for you. Maybe with airport view can be a different experience, it was our original booking but no regret to change and pay additional. Onsen is great but private bath make us use only once and prefer enjoy by our self. Without onsen we may have quite less enjoy. We was with our 2.9 years old daughter, she love plane so it was great.

Breakfast was good Japanese style , better if possible to eat in room but still great. Lobby lounge for club floor, good you can have free drink from 12 to 21 many choice maybe a bit more cocktails, but place is not great as it is in lobby not feel you want to enjoy there. Maybe instead having few free drink in the room we may enjoy better. Now why i take off one star it is the food option in general. At diner you have choice on course in restaurants or snack ( really simple pizza cheese fried potato) With kids we prefer to have an option of restaurant a la carte in hotel or a room dining. There is restaurant but mainly outside.

This is not in count for the hotel review but for people who look for food around : About outside restaurant there is many option take out or outside eating , good and really bad too. Check before eat. The sausage / hot dog shop in first floor was great reasonable and nice but tacos shop with blue seat in center of the area was just bad and expensive.

To finish globally we really enjoy this hotel and...

Ryukyu Onsen Senagajima Hotel is undoubtedly worth a visit. The staff are remarkably professional, consistently attentive, and maintain a warm, genuine smile—a level of service that reflects Japan’s renowned hospitality at its finest. Most rooms overlook the runway at Naha Airport, with double-glazed windows that provide highly effective soundproofing. For aviation enthusiasts, this is nothing short of paradise. Few places in the world allow you to soak naked in an onsen while watching planes take off and land—an experience that borders on the surreal. We stayed in a side-facing room overlooking the runway and the hotel’s entrance, complete with an outdoor soaking tub. Unfortunately, the March winds were particularly unforgiving. Curiously, the more affordable rooms have enclosed outdoor tubs that shield against the cold, while our higher-priced room was left to the mercy of the elements with nothing but a flimsy curtain for protection. A brief and rather chilly soak resulted in an inevitable cold—an irony not lost on us. Breakfast is a highlight—an abundant and beautifully presented Japanese spread that could easily see you through until dinner if you linger until ten. The hotel’s onsen, “Ryujin no Yu,” features both indoor and outdoor pools. The standing outdoor pool, facing the runway and the endless blue sky, is particularly striking—a touch of theatre that enhances the relaxation. A special mention must go to POSILLIPO Cucina Meridionale, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, which offers an equally impressive experience. The food is excellent, and the staff maintain the same level of professionalism and warmth that defines the entire property. An overall delightful stay, though one hopes the hotel might consider extending the same level of care to the outdoor tub situation as they do to the breakfast and the view.
